Hi guys!

I’ve recently gotten interested in upgrading my poker chip game. I have a solid group that plays with me, but the highest quality of chip we have are the 13.5g “Mint” chips.

after watching a ton of videos on YouTube, I’ve decided to learn more about the chip community

That’s awesome! I have my eye on some certain sets. I don’t know how to describe them other than they are chips from the Horseshoe Casino Indiana. I ordered some samples. But I want to mix “styles” from them.

We play both cash and tournament.

We play both cash and tournament.

Im looking at spending 1200-1500 for a good set.
Pics will come later after work!
10-20 players, though it’s usually 10.

We play cash and tournament.

Can't go wrong with casino paulsons. I have bought 700 of the horseshoe southern indiana so far

Where’s a good place to start shopping? I only know of Apache so far as a reputable place to shop and it’s where I just purchased samples from.

My first advice would be have seperate chips for cash and tournament for security, so no one can pocket a chip during a tournamet and slip iot into play in a cash game.

Oh damn. That’s something I’ve never thought of. I’ve seen people mention on here having the different sets, but didn’t know why. I figured it was to do with aesthetics.

If you want the horseshoe southern indiana chips go thrpuogh the chiprrom a vendor here. Jim is the one who bought out the casino and is selling the chips.

his black friday sale still has some active links. you can get a new primary cash set for $650 it's 600 new chips

or you can buy used primaries for .49 for $1 chips .59 for $5 chips or .69 for $25 chips

if you want ceramics you cn get customs from BR Pro Poker or join in on one of the group buys going on here were we are getting ceramics from china for around .30/chip

It' the same reason casino's have tournament chip sets instead of just using their cash chips

Again depending on what you do more cash or tournament you may want to put more money into one set than the other. If for instance you mainly plpay cash maybe get the HSI chips for a cash set then get soem of the ceramic,s from china for a cheaper tournament set or vice versa if you mainly play tournaments.

Welcome to the forum!
Living anywhere close to His All Hot-Stampness the @AK Chip is a privilege envied by most members here! :)
Different cash and tournament sets are required unless the chips cost exactly the same to buy (-in) for either type of game.
Say goodbye to your money, anyway.

With your budget and wanting two sets and liking the Horseshoe Indiana chips, getting a cash set of them is about the cheapest Paulson chips around.

paulson solids can sometimes be found for around $1/each, but usually a little more. CPC tournament solids can definitely be found for a $1 each.

Something like that would be you best option if you want clay chips and to stay in that $1500ish budget.

Custom ceramics are also a great option in the $1 (or less in volume) price range.

welcome to the site and enjoy the hunt!
