New Cincy chips (1 Viewer)

Most effective way to harvest $2 chips? Do they use them for limit poker?

Any interest in grabbing me a rack of $2's in exchange for a couple racks of singles from JACK Cleveland? If not I'll have to make a trip down there shortly :)

The snappers are nice but IMO they could have been so, so much better had they used something much darker in place of the light brown/light chocolate/tan/whatever color it is. Just not enough contrast whereas a darker color would not only be more POP but would have made the green jump off the page as well.

My first thought - holy cow!! Awesome score!

Second thought - ok.. face value is....

Third thought - what, no hundos or $500s?!?

Trip report: love the chips in person, much more than the photos. Went in with the intent of picking up 5 racks of singles and 2 racks of snappers. Although my wife and I were in town for a couple days, I had limited time to harvest.

We got into town about 2 am Saturday morning, dropped the wife at the hotel and hit the casino. I expected to play 3/6 limit and ferret away a lot of chips. Was a lot easier than that. Went up to the cage, bought 2 racks of whites, and stuck them in my backpack. Put my name on the 3/6 waitlist, and walked the casino for a few minutes. Returned to the poker room and bought another 2 racks. Stuck them in my bag, and waited for a seat to open up.

Bought another rack to sit with, and lost $30 over 3 hours of play. Been a long time since I sat at a limit game. Took a while to stop betting at dangerous flops with air. Forgot that NO ONE folds in 3/6 limit. Fun table, though, as far as friendly personalities. The gentleman to my left flopped 4 jacks (which happened to be a promotional jackpot...$15k) but bet the river and didn't get a call. The table erupted when the floor informed him that it needed to be at showdown to pay out, because the prior dealer had told the table it just had to be shown. The next 3 dealers all were under the same impression. But the unfortunate man was unbelievably understanding, and soldiered on without much complaint. Left at 5:30 or so with 470 chips in tow.

Decided to try for snappers on day 2. Went up to the main cage around 11am, and asked for a rack of pinks. The cashier asked me to clarify, then said no problem and headed to the back to grab a rack. Unfortunately the cage boss intercepted her on the way back to me, and informed me that they would not sell snappers in quantity. He said he could sell me 15. I thought about it, but opted not to pursue it, as my wife wanted to do some things around town. I think I could have gotten a rack or two if I was willing to spread out my purchases over the whole day.

Came back around midnight, after catching a free concert downtown. Played 3/6 again, almost same cast of characters from the night before. Rode a heater to a $389 profit. Bagged enough chips to harvest an even 800, and walked. Fun table, and a lot less stress than any game I usually play.

The $2 chip were also readily available from the poker cage, but I have about 500 RHCs with the same base color already.

Woah that was a long report. TL, DR: Pretty easy pickings if you want to harvest non-snappers.
Also, the cashier seem to be taught to scrape the sides of the rack with another chip to verify the count, so get em soon. There were plenty of damaged inlays, and the chips were introduced 4 days ago.

My guess is using the alternate molds was done as a security precaution. However, that's just a wild guess. I have no experience to back up that claim.

More likely, someone just checked the wrong box or had a case of 'I don't give a shit'.

Terrible rule! I heard that they made a mistake in their wording when they submitted it to the state. The first guy that hit it got paid by mistake even though it didn't go to showdown. I've had JJ twice since it started and it sucks, because you have to just limp and check-call. Watched a guy 3-bet them this morning pre and everyone folded. smh.

Very strange placement of the RFID thingy on the $25. And still perplexed by the THC $1s and snappers, when everything else is RHC.

If these chips do eventually go up for sale (I gather they have rebranded and have started calling in the Jacks), those snappers are going to be a hot item. The $2 chips are also really nice in person. I’ve never handled the $25 or higher denoms.
