Hey Guys, new chipper from Canada here. I'm looking to invest in my first real set of chips. So if been doing some research on here and everyone's first comments are to order samples. I couldn't agree more. So if been looking at sample chips from all the common places everyone mentions. Apache, ABC, CPC, china Clay's. So cause I'm located in Canada the shipping fees for all the different chips will get quite expensive. I would love to put that money towards the set instead. Wondering if there is anyone willing to lend out a sample pack of chips I can send back or willing to part with for a reasonable price. I dont need a crazy amount of chips but I would like to handle them. Some that iv been looking at are Royals, Pharoah's, majestic, tiki, Nevada Jack's, a y other ceramics and any cpc chips . I'm already getting a sample set of the Paulson's and bud Jones and some more of the expensive chips from another gracious forum member. I havent recieved them yet but Thank you @allforcharity for your generosity. Also if there are any other chips people recommend I'm open for suggestions. I personally really like the bright colorful chips.
Thanks

Where are you in Ontario? If you are on this site and worried about the cost of samples being spent on what could be used towards a nice set...you could just jump ahead to what others have as proven quality in this general order with minor variances.

Paulson's
*CPC, other high quality chips
North American Ceramics
China Ceramics (ie cards mold)
China Clays
etc....

Do you want a cash set? tournament set? something to cover both?'

I'm looking for a tournament set. I'm in Hamilton Ontario . Thanks for the list . Makes sense from what iv been reading. But I would still like to physically feel them. It's my first set a d I may opt for something less expensive then going balls to the wall right away....lol

If you have shopped locally the best two chips you can get in Canada from Straitpokersupplies are their Crazy Horse China Clays and the Scroll Ceramic chips.... samples of these would give you a fair assessment of the others you are considering from the USA etc... If you like those then fire away, if you are not thrilled with them then keep watch here and consider what you would like within a certain budget.

I had both Scroll's and Crazy horse chips and they are very nice but Paulsons, Customs and CPC's are nicer which is where my current sets have gone.

My suggestion is to add a workable inexpensive set to your collection for now and to wait for the next big Casino chip sale from the Chiproom which happen from time to time here in a mad dash for chips sale of some good quality stuff that is always later traded here from more. A recent example are the Majestic Star's, previously Jack, Horse shoe's...etc.... Otherwise the Cards Mold Ceramics are fantastic and custom chips provide great game security

Hey I would definitely take you up on that offer not sure exactly what you have left. But if you could put some together for me I would definitely pay you what you like. Maybe a barrel or half a barrel, that would be awsome.....let me know what you have left
Sounds good. If you are looking for a tournament set, I don't think live vegas chips would be the way to go. Probably too expensive and you can't really find the colors/denoms to make it worth while. But if you want some vegas chips just to check them out, I got them all. I'll PM you later.

good luck with the hunt.

Hey , if looked at there site since they are the only company in Canada which is mind blowing to me but nevertheless a friend of mine bought a set from there and I was looking for something a little nicer. I would rather have an actual chip of what I plan on buying as a pose to hopeing 1 is like the other. But thanks for the recommendations anyways. I will definitely keep an eye on the chiproom sales

I have a listing with 10 sample sets in it along with some other partial sample sets and individual chips. $25 + ship. See the listing. I just bumped it to the top.

Those Crazy Horse china clays are just relabeled Claysmith Milanos, so should be easy to find someone who has a handful they could send to you to evaluate.
