Hello all. I recently found this site, and I've already made two purchases from the classifieds. I can see that this is going to be an expensive hobby. Hopefully I can pay for it with my poker winnings. ;-)
From my first trip to Vegas, many years ago, I started collecting a chip from each casino I went to. I just love the look and feel of real, casino chips. I can't stand playing home games with cheap plastic chips, so I started accumulating my first mixed set. I started pocketing a barrel or two of chips each time I play at my local card room (Harrah's New Orleans). I plan to get 300-400 1's for my final set. I also bought a rack of Aztar 5's and half a rack of Paulson Pharoahs black NCVs.
I currently don't have a regular home game, but I'm planning to try to start one up once I get my chip set complete. It's funny that I'm actually looking to start a regular game, just so I can use my new chips. I started out playing limit Hold'em (in the mid 90's), so I still like the action and game style of limit. I'm hoping to get a regular $2-4 limit game going, so I'll need a bunch of 1's. Here's my set so far. It might not look like much to you veterans, but I open the case every day, just to handle the chips and do a few riffles, to get that great chip feel.
I look forward to reading more and contributing to this forum.
