Hello together,

I'm a new member from Germany just gathering gear to host some nice homegames with my friends.
Since last year I'm also a frequent visitor in my local casino.

My first order arrived today - I've also written a review. I guess it needs a bit of time until that is visible by the public.

Since I have a large table at home I was looking for a poker cover for that table. I found several and they looked very similar to mousepads.
I ordered a giant mousepad instead - it was cheaper and I'm curious if that will work. But I guess cards have to glide, mouses have to glide - how different could that be.
Also a pad without a print could be used for boardgames too.

What are your thoughts on mousepads as a poker table top?

I've spend the last weeks looking up gear.

I use a giant sheet of neoprene, cut to my table. Works really well. I suspect mousepads are similar, just with the added non-stick bottom. Might actually work better as my neoprene topper is a bit slippery, requiring me to secure it somehow.

Please post an update on how it works for you.

Moin!
Always good to see a new chipper from Germany!
If you have any questions, just shoot me a pm!
Where in Germany are you at?

Best wishes from Cologne.

Welcome to PCF,

I seem people selling Poker Felt in custom size as Desktop mouse pads before

But not all mousepad surface felt / are the same, some are vastly different and it depend on your choice of mousepad

Ah hello! Love the ideated DIY attitude. That said, reminds me that I never did get a chance to buy any of the Stralka chips, always wanted those.

Here's a set that would be a good fit for what you're looking for.
Thanks.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: 406 chips are about 4.5 kg - which means that USPS international shipping would be $80.
On top I have to pay import sales tax and customs fee. So in sum 300+ €

Yup. It's an unfair game for us europeans.

Still comes down to around 75ct/chip and I prefer ceramics over plastics or china clays all day.

Get samples! ;)
