New Chip Set for Tournament (2 Viewers)

For your budget and needs, I'd go with a 500-chip tournament set of custom hot-stamped CPC chips, which allows you up to five denominations:

120 x T25
120 x T100
50 x T500
125 x T1000
85 x T5000
------------
500 chips -- enough to support ten 10K starting stacks (12/12/5/6), with plenty of extra T1000 and T5000 chips to cover T25/T100/T500 color-ups, 100% re-buys, add-ons, bonus starting chips, and even larger starting stacks up to 50K if desired.

CPCs are premium clay chips, and will last many lifetimes.

NOTE: You can get by with just 400 chips (120/120/50/75/35), but won't be able to order five custom chip denominations, and you would be limited in the number and type of re-buys/add-ons you could offer (15 @ 2xT5000). The extra 50xT1000 and 50xT5000 chips create a much more versatile and flexible set.

According to the CPC web site, you should be able to order a 500-chip set of Atlantic Club hot-stamped chips on the A-mold with your choice of stock denoms, stock colors, and breakdown (or even with a different mold) for well under $1,000. Personally, I'd go with this lineup of all day-glo colors using the jockey mold:

120 x T25 dayglo green
120 x T100 dayglo peacock
50 x T500 retro lavender
125 x T1000 dayglo tiger
85 x T5000 dayglo yellow

Peacock and Tiger are CPC's best colors, and that lineup puts them both in workhorse chip slots -- the two chips that will get used the most.

I’d make the T500 Dayglo pink instead, it would make the set much brighter.

Not one of the standard AC colors. If cost is no option, I'd use bright white.
Good point, but are they hot-stamped to order? Because otherwise they would still need to be made custom and be subject to minimums of 100 and waiting times.

According to the web site, if you choose the stock AC colors, you can interchange the AC stamps and have flexibility in denomination breakdown.... and ready for delivery in about two weeks. Any other changes (non-stock colors, mold, or hot-stamp design) would be considered a custom order and priced accordingly.

These are the color samples from a few years ago and the lighting is a bit washed out but this is the color scheme BG is suggesting.

The peacock and tiger are much more vibrant in person, this pic doesn't do them any favors.

Very nice color scheme as well. I will put my hands on these shortly hopefully as i ordered the sample pack. I also have the Paulson sampler that floats around on the forum coming my direction. was tempted to buy the WSOP chips i saw listed here but a little afraid without having handled anything yet that the smaller size might be preferred. I know these customs or the AC club wont really hold any value like another chip set might but like i said I probably wont be horse trading these and just looking for a great set up for my house and am leaning this direction while might even do custom to get them to add some artwork on a stamp.

Thanks for all the help this is like drinking from a fire hydrant to start with, and i thought i knew a little about poker stuff :)

I didn’t have to wait any longer but there is an extra charge for the DG colors and Bright White

Is that what they are calling the hot stamp with your writing on there? I was thinking about a sticker i guess when someone referred to hot stamp. I think i might like the sticker version better with the numbers on them with art work, more like a casino has on their chips.

I'm not a fan of hot stamps. However I'm pretty sure you can get a 500 chip set of inlaid CPCs for $1000 or slightly over if you stick to level 1 and 2 for most and maybe level 3 for the highest denom and one of the lower priced molds.

That is a hot stamp, the other type of inlay has labels

The tip, Johnson City. I was up in Nolensville for a few years but came back here.

I looked at that set, it looks like an awesome set for what i want and price point but was concerned about size of chips, having not handled them. At this point with my head spinning I will wait until I get the samples I ordered as well the sample pack coming from the forum and keep my eyes out. I am moving along the right direction for sure thanks to all the help from everyone. If for some reason someone had a smoking cool set that pops up that I for sure could get my money back if I decided I did not like them I might pop. Kinda where I was with the WSOP set, seller offered to buy back if I did not like them, which is extremely nice and rare.

Glad to have found a great place to talk poker and meet nice folks who unlike eBay is just there to grab your money and run!

Smart to slow down and take it all in. I personalty love the look of of the wsop set but don't like the 36mm size. There are plenty of people who do like it, so its a personal thing that only you can know when you get some in your hands. As far as AK offering to buy them back if you don't like them, that doesn't surprise me one bit he is an awesome guy to deal with. Hell some people hate the 43mm chips, or mixed sets with 39mm and 43mm chips, it boils down to you spending your money on chips you love. Get samples, listen to advise given and ultimately buy what you like. Good luck and make sure you post pictures of whatever you get, we can't ever get enough of that around here.
