Here are 3 mock-ups for another set I’m designing.

My inlays haven’t been designed yet, I plan on using a designer, if anyone has any recommendations.

The theme is the Chicago White Sox colors through the years.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Does anyone have recommendations on a designer for the inlays or should I email and ask Dave at CPC?

The slight edge to me is the bottom because none of the edge spot colors repeat.

Lots of nice colors and edge spot combinations but the lack of a progression, which usually don’t get to me, is kind of getting to me.

Generally I much prefer the top row, but the red based chip’s (2nd) edge spot isn’t speaking to me. Go a little simpler and I think you have a good start.

The difficulty is the Chicago White Sox have had 2 main colors for the last 100+ years, Black/Silver/White and Blue/Red.

One of their major uniforms had red pinstripes, with their longest color being black and silver.
The green chip design was the hardest because the only green ever worn in their history is their green pinstripe St Patrick’s day uniforms. Throughout their history, they have had some navy and light blue colors, but again, predominant colors were Black/Silver and Red/Blue (mainly 80’s). In the 30’s, they had a logo with red, yellow, and white, hence the white/yellow edge spots on the red chips.

I wanted to convey the major colors over the years with both the top and bottom. The main difference is the white and red complexities in the top. The thin edge spots showcase the classic pinstripes over the years (black or red) while the solid 212 designs are solid gray for road gray uniforms.
I personally think the 4v12 Blue/Red on white base showcases the classic red/blue 80’s logo the best, which still get worn occasionally today, while the Red chip highlights the 30’s logo of the yellow/white highlights.
I know. A ton of overthinking, but just trying to show my thought process.

I’d go back to the middle row with the black chip from the first row.

I would also switch places with the white and red chips. Spot progression works better that way

I think my most recent pic is going to be the design. The other combinations don’t show off the team colors through the years as well. I’m still toying with the idea of making the red chip a 4v12 design with red 1/8 edge spots in the blue.

I also loved the black with the charcoal 1/2 design but the charcoal seems to not convey the team colors as well. The solid was to highlight their road gray uniforms while the bright white 1/8 edge spots were to highlight home white with black pinstripes.

Question for anyone who has ordered from CPC. Both the tournament and cash set I ordered are 1000 chip sets. The cash set is still in production. The tournament set is here. I received 1078 chips, extras of all colors. Is this a standard. I can’t figure out why except there may be some flaws in some and the extras were sent.

extras from ASM / CPC is fairly standard (caveat -- haven't ordered from them in a while). There are usually extras from the manufacturing prrocess.
CPC cant use them, so they have to toss them in the trash or send them along with your order.
Enjoy

Final 2 designs for my next project.

Anyone’s thoughts? Big difference is the red chip.

As said in previous posts, the chip colors are based off of the Chicago White Sox team colors through history.

My inlays are currently being designed by timinator.

As a Sox fan I like the 2nd set in your most recent post. I don't however understand the green chip. Is it because you want green in your lineup, and justify it by St Patty's Day? Why not a powder blue chip with the dark blue and green edge spots (or whatever they're called) to go along w/ the uniforms of the 60's and 70's?

I love your idea. I’m going to play around with that.

I wanted to stick with the standard casino color denominations, the major issue being the green $25. The only green ever in the White Sox history are the green pinstripe St Patrick’s day uniforms. I was trying to highlight the previous navy and light blue uniform colors in the green chip edge spots.

I’ll see what the powder blue chips looks like as I play around with it. Thanks for a great idea.

Yeah, I too am a traditionalist when it comes to classic casino colors, but recently I've been going with the "screw it - I can always order another color" approach. I know these customs aren't cheap though.

GL! Keep us updated. Looking forward to seeing them completed.

Also, what kind of foam/case are you using for your tourney set?

And another design, green base but similar to their scoreboard pinwheels

And I’m having a custom foam case made by mycasebuilder. They already made me a 1500chip case for my existing sets.

Grey, too, would be a good base color to go with (just throwing it out there).

I’ve also toyed around with that idea but there was a little too much similarity with the black 100.

I’m also going to play around with maybe having a light blue $10 chip.
