The dice:

Midwest Game Supply has been making dice at their factory near Kansas City since 1945. Today, the business is still family-owned and operated. Everything is made to order, and it takes about three to four weeks to produce a shipment of dice. Their line of regulation casino dice is called "Certified Perfects," and they ship these dice to casinos worldwide.

Our deal with Midwest:

I reached out to the good folks at Midwest in January. They agreed to take our order for some Certified Perfects, but only after a thorough check by the company, and the gaming commissions of both Missouri (where thy are located), and Delaware (where I'm located). The gaming commissions in both states wanted to make sure I wasn't supplying the dice to casinos without their knowledge.

Once everything cleared, the order took four weeks to complete. I opted for full-size (3/4 inch), polished dice with razor edges, flush spots and serial numbers in gold -- your basic casino craps dice. The order included three colors: a traditional red, dark blue, and green. The shipment arrived last night. (Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018)

Special offer for PCF members:

The dice will be sold in sticks of five on the Key West site for $13.95 each. All five dice in a stick carry the same serial number. The dice are wrapped in gold foil at the factory and have a small sticker showing the serial number.

If you're a registered PCF member:

One stick is $13.50
2 or more sticks: $12.95 each
3 sticks, one each of red, blue and green: $12.50 each ($37.50 for 3 sticks)
plus shipping, as usual

To order:

PM me here (dennis63). These dice are not on the Key West site yet. They're only here on PCF.

New stuff coming to the Key West
In these cold, snowy winter months, we've been reaching out to more casino industry contacts and finding new products to offer at the Key West. We've placed orders with four new suppliers, and will be offering new items each week over the next several weeks.

When each new item is ready, you'll see it here first on the Poker Chip Forum.

T.R. King connection?

Can anyone here confirm (or refute) what I read here on PCF -- that Midwest Game Supply is located in the old T.R. King factory? Midwest is the only American dice maker, and in one discussion on the history of T.R. King, it was mentioned that "they make dice" today at what use to be T.R. King in Kansas City.

T.R. King moved its offices to Los Angeles long ago, so if the Kansas City factory use to be T.R. King, it was quite some time ago.

Very cool. Glad it all worked out. (y) PM incoming.

If you get some Gemaco Superflex cards, @dennis63, I'll...well, I don't know what I'll do.

Other than buy some.

I would like to buy some Gemaco Superflex cards from you. Bridge size, any index.

Regardless, PM coming regarding the dice, because hawt.

I'd love to get my hands on a truckload of Gemaco Superflex bridge jumbos myself! We tried to do a group buy with the folks at Kardwell about a year ago, when they had a big supply of Superflex decks. They initially agreed to a price, but backed out the next day by doubling the price. I haven't dealt with them since. They're just about out of Gemacos altogether.

I believe GPI now owns Gemaco. They don't answer their phone. Last summer, I called, emailed and sent letters. Their response? I'm still waiting. I fear that all Gemaco cards will soon be completely off the public market. The casino where I work uses custom Gemaco decks, shipped in custom packages of six decks. Really, really nice.

I remember that. After agreeing to a price, they then claimed they didn’t know that “a setup” was two decks, or some such nonsense.

We have an order going Down Under. If any more Australian members are interested, we can talk about sending one shipment with all the dice, then reshipping in country if everyone is okay with it. Splitting the international part of the shipping could save each member substantially.

I believe that TR King moved to Los Angeles in 1931. Prior to that they were located at 617 Grand Avenue in KC, 26 miles from where Midwest Gaming Supply is in Kearney. Perhaps prior to their current address MGS was in the TR King building?? Not sure but anything is possible and a part of me wants to believe the lineage exists.

Congrats on adding to your product card; I'll be ordering a stick. I still get emails through the TRK site for information and quotes for chips and dice. Just last week someone was looking for 1,000 pairs and I referred them to Glenn. Once in a while someone is looking for a table but mostly chips and dice.

Very Cool, no chance of getting "Key West" on them??

They can do this, but we'd need to make and sell at least a few hundred sticks with the Key West name just to make up the extra cost.

Casinos do this for game security, and the extra cost is negligible when you are putting out a new stick at every craps table every day for a year and winning lots of money from players with each stock.

Key West logo dice are on my wish list for later this year.

Got the beautiful dice Dennis. I wish I had a craps table. But now I can start my dice drinking games ;)

I'm planning on making a craps table this summer so these are perfect. I'll take 1 of each color, PM coming.

Yeah I got mine and absolutely love them, would be awesome if some other colours became available! We're already using them in some of our board games, adds an awesome touch.

Hi Dennis, I'm Dennis (literally). Super happy to find your Key West site as I want to buy a lot of casino supplies in the future. But I was specifically researching Midwest dice, thinking I wouldn't be able to buy some as just a regular guy without a casino. Very glad I found this thread! Does this special pricing for members still apply? I don't think I can PM yet as a new user. Are your dice the .75" or .775"? Thank you.

Hi, Dennis: (Great name, by the way!)

The dice are 0.75" / 19.05 mm. Midwest is the number one supplier of casino dice worldwide, so the size and weight are very precise. To keep the material perfectly clear and avoid wasting time and material, their manufacturing is done in a "clean room" environment that looks like a lab. So they don't call them "Certified Perfects" for nothing!

We started selling these dice in February, 2018. The offer and prices in the original post are from over four years ago. Midwest's wholesale price is likely higher than those 2018 PCF discount prices now, and may even be higher than my retail price. (I haven't checked recently.)

The dice now sell on our retail website for $14.95 per stick. We have Certified Perfects both with or without the Key West name on the "2" spot. ("Key West" Certified Perfects come in red or blue. The plain dice are available in red, blue or green.) The "Key West logo dice" are here:

When you have enough posts or time to send PMs, let me know what you'd like to buy. I will always do whatever I can to get you the best price here on PCF.
