Hi everyone. Been looking at chips for the last few months as decided to upgrade my old cheapish (thought it was great at the time) 300 tourney set I purchased about ten years ago. Realised that most of the info and searches kept leading me here so have signed up. Loads of great info already. Currently swaying towards a Milano tourney set and Majestics cash set but I seem to be spending all my cash on samples now. Samples are costing me a fortune but loving getting to see and handle all the different types and designs of chips. Looks like I'm in this for the long haul now.

Welcome!!

Look at it this way...they’re costing you far less than entire sets bought and then decided to not be what you want!

Very true. Some of the chips I thought I would like I really didn't when the samples arrived and vice versa. Plus I'm really enjoying getting samples

Welcome to the forum man!

Don't worry about the samples, and the costs. You can nearly break even by selling them back right here where you find them, in the Classifieds.

More like a rental fee that gets returned. Sampling is a great way to buy efficiently and will help you set your aim on what you need and want

Have fun!

Congratulations. You may have found a "sweet spot" for feeding chip addiction while not spending as much money as full blown addiction. Buy nothing but sample sets all the time with all your money. Every couple of years, sell off many sample sets and buy a playable set.

This way, you will avoid going into debt to have fabulous chips.

Welcome! Samples are the best way to start, but sample set collecting can get addicting! Hope you enjoy your new chippies!!!

Yep, have found that out to my cost. Although I do now know what Paulson's, Bud Jones, China clays, ceramics and CPCs feel like.

he ships from the UK and is a vendor here as well. @David Spragg
Had a look and ended up getting far to many bits and pieces that I liked the look of and wanted to have a look at. Great site with a lot of interesting stuff and so many ideas for the future now but going to get expensive!

It's funny how your opinion on chips can change from when you first get them and after handling them for a bit.
