My collecting patterns have changed over the decades. Most recently I’ve been focusing on historical or personally relevant sets.

These Resorts Tunica Mississippi, touch on both aspects.

Tunica used to be a thriving poker escape in the 90s and 2000s. I would receive postcards with invites to low cost junkets to Tunica via some hobby airway that I had to lookup. Sometimes they’d even be Greyhound bus! My first trip to Tunica consisted of a tour of most of the casinos in the region. Lots of memorable events where cemented in my brain in just a few days. Tunica mixed just the right amount of faux glam and dive level comfort with legitimate luxury retreats. I was instantly hooked.

Tunica is no longer a poker hotspot, but it still reminds me of its historical contributions to the game of poker when I look at this set.

These inlays are inadvertently hilarious to me. Especially how they reused the image for the 25 and 100. Where they saving printing costs? Did they run out of stock photos? Who knows? One thing is for sure, they are Tunica Mississippi, and I love them.

They reused Atlantic City layout, IMHO
