Never show your cards! (1 Viewer)

Never really understood why some folks like to do that, but I'm always grateful.

Um, what?!

Bitcoin Yoda couldn't have seen the flush. He flopped his straight and went blind. Otherwise, why do you show that you don't have the flush on a flushed board?!

Hicks folds a 7-high flush without that flashed card.

How the hell does he call after that without a flush? Is he just that bad that he didn't see it?

Bitcoin Yoda isn't who I'd call the best player. He was nearly 100% VPIP in the vloggers game a couple of weeks back.

That 5/5/5 game plays enormous...

He didn't flop his straight he made it on the river......as long as the cards are in the right order. This guy's a fucking idiot with more money than brains, wish I could play with him

I've never done that "show one card crap," and I'm sure it's not usually a good idea. That said, I think a better title for this thread would be "NEVER BE A DUMB STUPID BRAINLESS IDIOT"

I think that you should never show any of your cards unless you are called down, WHY give out information.

In my home game, I show cards and hand out info all day after the hand is over. I rarely do this in the casino, and it's almost always for image manipulation or to increase action at a dead table.

I never ever ever show cards while action is still pending. It's just plain dumb, and in this case it cost Bitcoin Yoda at least $15K, and possibly (though not likely) the whole pot.

I will show my cards in a home game after the hand is over every once in a while, but never in a tournament. Thats giving up too much info.

Showing cards during play is dumb. It only makes sense if you can show a card that threatens the nuts. And then it's pretty obvious you can't threaten the nuts when you refuse to show.

Now that said I think it's fine to show hands occasionally after the end of the hand. Especially if I have made a play not indicative of my strategy or just to keep the fish entertained (and donating.)
