Hello group, I'm new to the group and I'm not a collector but a a thrifted and reseller, I often find chips, sometimes I buy them and other times I don't. Gaming chips are just not an area I really know about but apparently there are some fabulous looking chips out there so I'm going to be on the lookout.

I bought these yesterday and there's really nothing out there on "Royal Palms" except one seller on eBay who has a few chips. These feel like real chips and are not cheap plastic ones from Walmart. Since I can't find out anything, they're probably not worth much if anything at all but still worth learning so I'm going to toss it out there,

Thanks for any help you can offer me.

Welcome! I would say since they dont have a location are probably a home set of some type. Doubtful that they were used in casino!

Two examples of similar chips used by Smith & Wesson as proto-type promotional items. They ended up using an even cheaper chip as the giveaway.

<shrug> hope they use better judgement sourcing parts for their firearms.

Not bottom of the barrel, but way below average. Likely not worth much without provenance.

Your chips are a nylon-base injection-molded chip (no metal slug) and were produced by Langworthy & Company.

They are much nicer than dice chips, and they are also not the same as the cheaper chips commonly referred to as 'Sopranos' which were produced much later by others. The chips referred to above by @DrStrange are the cheaper type, and not made by Langworthy. Differences include the material type used, no metal slug, injection mark location, and configuration of the stripes (Langworthy chip stripes end squarely, while others have curved ends that wrap around the center diameter).

The hot-stamp design on your chips indicates it was likely a personalized set. Langworthy casino chips typically run about $1 to $1.50, with personalized sets having a lesser value.

Wow wow wow!! Talk about knowing your stuff!! Very impressed by the responses.

Besides being a reseller, I'm also a crafter. I paid $3 for all the chips ($1.50 per rack) so not much invested. I wouldn't spend the time needed to sell them one by one and not sure there would be much interest to sell the full racks. I'm thinking I could make some jewelry out of them if I can somehow get a hole in them. I might need to check out some "DIY poker chip crafts" and see what other nifty ideas people have come up with.

I would hate to destroy anything of value and most of my crafty ideas are from broken or old junky things. Thanks for all your help. My craft thinking cap is on!
