Hi All

I needed a bit of guidance to help me choose some software, I have ever used HUDs or tracking software before so am not sure what I should be looking for either.

I usually play 2NL, 5NL and 10NL on pokerstars but also need to find softer sites to play on (was thinking 888, thoughts/suggestions?), my general game is ok, usually come out with a small profit, I use equilabs to help with opening ranges etc.

There's probably 3 that I have narrowed it down to, HM2, PT4 and Holdem Indicator.

What would you be looking for, what would you pick and why?

Thanks in advance

I really like the look of Jivaro (https://www.jivaro.com/) but unfortunately they don't have a version for Mac, which means I've never actually used it. The HUD only works with Pokerstars on Windows, but shows all the stats you'd need like how active a player is: how often they raise pre and post flop. Also tournament stats on the fly.

Check out the video they have on their site. I wish they had it for Mac.

I like the look of Jivaro, clean crisp look. not a fan of monthly subscriptions though, I prefer paying for the software upfront, then i am done with the payments, lol!

Yeah I agree, but just hit the .5/.10 table and win a couple of hands and leave. That's it paid for every month :D

how are you finding Holdem manager? also whats your take on 888?

There's actually a free 30 day trial, so you could try it for yourself. I tried both PT4 and HM2. In the end, they're pretty close. Except I got one free :)

It kind of sucks that Pokerstars doesnt outright ban all add-ons / HUDs. New people signing up have no idea. Its not fair. At first I was over the moon that Pokerstars may come to Massachusetts, but after I read about all the cheating and unauthorized HUDs etc, I realized there was no way to 100% create a fair playing field. I'll probably stick to giving my buddies my cash vs some randoms over the internet haha.

Yeah but I read about guys using 2 PCs/virtual machines and mirroring the one to the other, and running the HUDs on the 2nd PC so it's undetectable. I dont know. This sht just bothers me. There is no way they can control it.

The HUDs above only display data that is available to everyone. Sure, for a lot of it you'd have to write down the actions of everyone you play against, but it's not like they're showing you what your opponent has.
