My reflections on PCF after a full year of chipping. (1 Viewer)

Everyone on here had such cool shit so I had to keep up lol. I got lucky that I had my custom table ordered and was able to theme chips around it.

Here's some of my shoes and MTG. About 80% of my magic stuff went to funding poker as I play very sparingly these days. I probably had close to 80 pairs of high end kicks, some worth up to 1200 a pair.

Bout a size 9? I can make it work lol.

Thats crazy man, I never coulda touched that collection! I still get to live a little though, every Father’s Day my wife grabs a pair of J’s from that year for me and my boy. Now with two littles, it may be getting too expensive!

Yeah pretty much any hobby I'm in, I go balls deep lmao. It's a vice of mine.

Mohammad,

Congratulations man! No need for me to pay all the compliments on here. Obviously, your chips are made of dreams.

You're nothing but class man! All chips aside.

Been a pleasure to get to make an acquaintance with you. Hopefully, I'll be getting a reship soon and will proudly display the Bean Town Poker swag in my poker room for my players to see. (When the world goes back to normal)

Thank you Nav! Has been a pleasure getting to chat. Hopefully we all make it out to a meet one day. Keep the family safe and healthy sir!

My first love for sure. Was collecting and wearing since the first grade man. Started with Allen Iverson's way back when. Had some T Mac's, Jordans, Gloves, etc. Outgrew it a few years backs but I still love rocking something nice out of my closet which has some gems that I'll never sell.
shoes were huge for me too, recently got back into them again with a few pairs of AM1s and New Balance 998s. You ever shop around at Bodega in Boston?

I have. I don't shop there a lot but they get some of the exclusives and collabs in limited quantities. Same with Concepts in Cambridge, MA.

Been a member for exactly one full year now. I remember the first time I stumbled across this forum I was in the market for chips and was trying to find the best I could buy. I ended up buying some Lucky Dragon ceramics from ABC and loved them. My players loved them too. One of the first Paulson sets I fell in love with were PNY chips. Saw them on here with their big glorious inlays and thought, wow those are some sexy chips. Saw the prices and thought, wow... those are not for me! I was bewildered by what people were paying for chips. I thought, man my chips get the job done, doesn’t make sense buying anything more expensive than a couple hundred. Lmao, that went right out the window. Fast forward to today and 4000 various Paulson chips later and here I am. A PROUD scrub donkey with chips I can’t even turn in for face value.

I’ve been in a few hobbies forums. Motorcycles, car tuning, expensive sneakers, magic the gathering etc etc. I can say without a doubt this forum has been my favorite and 90% of the people I’ve interacted with in here are some of the coolest internet people I’ve ever met. Other hobbies are filled with tire kickers, scammers, and lames. This place is full of authentic, warm bodied people who I would love to share a drink and a poker table with. My goal is to make it out to a couple meets over the next couple years. Not only have I become a pretty rad chipper, but from the generosity and kindness of others I’ve also become a better person from this hobby and forum. That right there is +EV. Big thanks to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with. I’ve made some good friends on here and I hope to meet as many of you that I can. Also a big thank you to Tommy and the mods for creating such a great environment for us scrub donkeys. What’s a post without some pr0n? Here are my current three favorite sets. #1 in the middle, #2 on the left and #3 on the right (podium style)!

#1 my custom solids. Very rewarding to put together and the set rally embodies everything I love about chips.
#2 my mixed set. My first plunge into the THC world. Hell of a first THC set too lol. Turned me into a pure degenerate.
#3 PNYS! Like I said, love at first sight when I saw them a year ago. What a nice one year anniversary gift to myself!

I don't have a huge collection of shoes...but I've done some buying out of "Flight Center" in LA. I do believe they have a larger store in NY city.

I used to have an addiction to Air Jordans

LOL LOL LOL!!!! Now that's funny to an old man!

Hasn't anyone ever told you that as you get older, your feet get longer? My life-long size 11s are now solid 13s. :cool

Sell 'em now, while you can get top dollar and your feet aren't screaming for mercy! :confused

I've never understood basketball shoes. They look like clown shoes lol

Lol those chocolate shoes in the front are worth close to a rack of BTP T5000s. They're not even meant for basketball at that point, mostly just collecting due to their limited nature and premium materials.

Lol well congrats on buying a rack of btp 5ks.

Maybe I'm too english to get it. Football boots ftw

It's not much different from chips. In theory was can all get by with less chips but we chose to spend a metric ton of money for the premium goods lol.

Changster is pretty right. Online poker is making me hate poker a lot lol. Chipping is fun though :). In all seriousness, just ask questions. There are a lot of nice people on here who are happy to help. Get yourself some samples and just try and absorb as much info as you can :).

I have been collecting sets... but I think they are the ABS with the metal inserts... I don't think I have come across many of the beautiful chips ive seen on PCF, but I am excited knowing there are shut down casinos who have their old chips floating around! I mean owning a set that has so much history and just being able to imagine how many lifes those little discs have changed for the better and worse... owning a set is like owning a piece of gaming history!

Its sure is. My mixed set is all casino based chips. Feels great owning a piece of their history. Especially since some are from the 70s!

Oh man such a sweet set! I’m also into motos and cars. Im Just starting on the chips but have been looking at sets for about 7 years now on and off. Just never had a place to set anything up.

congrats on 1 year. I really enjoyed this post.
