Thought I'd share some photos from my Nanuk 925 case experiment. This case is larger than their 910 size, but still has a manageable weight when full of chips as I have it configured. Interior Dimensions L17.0" x W11.8" x H6.4" | Exterior Dimensions L18.7" x W14.8" x H7.0"

I also have a 910 size that I used successfully with apache cases as many others have from the forum. I have tons of these cases around that I've used for different pieces of music + recording gear, so I had an extra that I wanted to experiment with.

This case has two layers of foam. I used Chipco racks stacked 2 high, and then utilized a 3rd rack flipped upside down as a "lid" - the benefit to this is that these extra racks are great for loading starting stacks for players.

I could have fit more chips in here, but wanted to leave some foam in between each set of racks with some extra around the perimeter. It looks cool when opened up for the game and makes for a fun way to showcase chips.

There's enough room in the front to pluck out some more foam for some card setups, dealer buttons, etc which I might do at some point.

I've learned a ton from browsing other project threads here on the forum so I wanted to share some photos of my experiment in case it helps to inspire any other new projects for other members.

You can see the top foam layer removed in the photo below:

I'm tempted to do this for 600 chips with room on the side for 2 decks and dealer buttons. I really like the idea of the added padding between racks. How does your case feel if you only do 600? Is it awfully lopsided?

good question! for 600, I might do three sections, double stacked - one dead center, the other two near each edge, and then put the cards + dealer buttons in between the center chip rack and the outer ones. does that make sense?

you'd probably be fine doing it the other way too but the cases loaded with chips can get a little heavy so having it balanced may make it easier to carry.

post photos once you get it all set up! good luck!

Do you think you could have fit 1000 chips into this?
That’s a great question. If the padding between racks was eliminated… maybe?

Or if a different style of rack was used, like the stacking ones with lids, it’s possible they could have been arranged in a way that would accommodate 1000 chips.

Trying to figure out before a tear all the foam...

Looks cool! Only one way to find out :)

And if it goes terribly wrong or doesn’t work as you imagine, I think you can buy replacement foam relatively cheap.

How many squares of foam do you have between you racks and do you feel they're necessary?

And do you feel the top racks are necessary to keep them from shifting around in the case?

The top racks are necessary for me. Without them (or even if they’re slightly off) the chips slide around and get loose.

I’ll have to check how many squares I have between but probably 2-4 is a guess. I don’t think they’re necessary for general storage. I have however traveled with the case on airplanes and for that purpose I was happy to have the extra padding. I flew half way around the world with my favorite set of chips and had no fear of them being damaged in any way.
