Waiting List
(My first post here, sorry for the length.)
Or, my journey really began almost 25 years ago. That’s when I started up my first home game in Stockholm, Sweden. Since then, we have been playing on a more or less regular basis. I even ran it as a semi-professional club for a few years. My tables has seen well over a hundred players over the years, but now I host a monthly game for around 8-12 players. And the majority of those are actually from the core group that began playing back in 1998, so we have a long history. Next year, I am planning a big 25-year anniversary event. And with that, I hope to introduce a brand new custom chip set.
For the last few years, we have been using Nevada Jacks as our main set, but this time I am set on clay chips. China clays though, as my budget likely will not allow for more expensive chips. I think I will go for Royals, but I am still waiting for samples. My other option is Majestics, but I like the overall design of the Royals better.
My idea is to get one large set, that will work for both cash games and tournaments. Another alternative is to get Majestics for cash games and use Royals for tournaments.
Our game nights usually start with a T25 tournament with 8-12 players, and ends in a cash game for eliminated players (blinds 2-5 or 5-10), usually not more than 10 players. But I want to get enough chips to host 2 tournament tables. And even though we normally start our tournaments with 10,000 chips, I also want to be able to run big stack tourneys (100K+) for about 12 players.
I don’t know if this is feasible with around 1,000 chips, but this is my idea of chip breakdown:
100 x 1
140 x 5
160 x 25
160 x 100
80 x 500
160 x 1.000
125 x 5.000
50 x 25.000
25 x 100.000
I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this. Since I live in Sweden shipping costs will be huge, so I need to get this right the first time.
After I have decided on the breakdown and whether to get 1 or 2 sets, I will begin the design process. And get a new loan on the house, I guess…
Anyway, thanks for your time and expertise!
