My first poker table and poker room build thread (4 Viewers)

I’m still tempted to do a raised rail. It just seems like it’s going to be a lot more difficult.

IMO, no reason for a raised rail if the rail plus its foam stands already 30-35mm higher than the playing surface.
I personally like some protection wall for the chip stacks, but I don't really like playing into a bucket(n)

back to work today. Ceiling is patched up, skirting boards and cornice is in. The electricians came to wire up and install power points.

This morning I’ll be helping (supervising) the filling of the exposed part of the wall where the wiring went in.

Make sure you have strong flood lighting available over the table.
Keep an eye on the construction workers, only taxi drivers can rival them for bastardy, world-wide.
Good luck bro.

I’ve got 4 ceiling lights in there, which should be plenty.

The construction worker is my dad lol, so I’ll be sure to keep an eye on the dodgy git haha.

Yeah except its $400 per pot light. Shit adds up quick.

Nice work! That came together fast! I realized long ago I have to hire people to do projects if I actually want them finished!

Looking great Mike - missed this thread somehow, but following with interest :)

Where did you get the chairs - Kmart specials??

Thanks Adam.

Kmsart specials indeed haha. I think they cost me about $45 each, which wasn’t bad I thought.

Table foam and felt have been installed now. I decided to outsource the rail, which will be finished in about a week or so from now.

I couldn’t resist testing the chips and cards out on the table.

The wife approves.

I know I’ve tagged and thanked him a million times, but finally seeing the table and chips come together properly makes me excited all over again. @p5woody is still my chipping hero for bringing my (ok my wife’s) idea to life. I spent years admiring all of the custom sets and matching tables and never thought I would have my own table, let alone poker room. I feel extremely lucky right now, I can’t wait for the first game this weekend.

Repping the @desjgn Caicos casino cards that I won in the Christmas giveaway. Thanks again Jason. Not only are Desjgn my favourite cards, but Jason takes customer service to the next level. I will never spend a penny on any other card brand again.

Looks great, and even better that your wife loves it!

Yet another guy in here that seems to have out kicked his coverage, congrats! :D

Congrats! Place, table, cahds and of course those chips all look great. Such a great theme man.

sweet man, awesome to get that poker room up and running!

My plans are for our future move to a 2nd home, to get a garage with an in-law above that I will convert into a poker room

I posted this already in the home game pics thread, but I figured I’d put it back in this thread too.
First game in the room went great, a few dropped out last minute so we only had 7, but it ended being a decent number to play with and we had about $1000 on the table.
Everyone loved the room and overall setup, so that was nice to hear. Just need to finish the rail now.
