Hi All,

Gonna be a little picture heavy (so starting a thread instead of adding on to someone else's), apologies for that.

Just received them yesterday, opened them up today.

The good:

2 week turnaround time (they quoted 2-3 weeks).
Kristil was easy to work with - excellent customer service and communication.
I ordered 15 plaques and BR sent 16 (bonus!).
Final product pretty close to artwork submitted.

Artwork (jpg) submitted:

Plaques received (picked out two of the more decent ones - more on that later) - pictures above are both sides of 1 plaque: (apologies in advance for so-so cell phone pics and not brushing the dust off of the plaques before taking pics)

Mine measured 84.1mm x 52.7mm and 3.5mm thick. Just a tad smaller than your standard gift card:

Almost forgot - side edges are smooth/glossy (you can choose color). The faces are primarily textured/matte with about a 1.5mm border that "curves/bevels down" to the side edge. Finish was pretty good, I only felt a few tiny burrs in the rounded corners of a couple of plaques.

10 plaques is just a tad shorter than 11 Nevada Jack Skull chips:

The not so good:

Quite a few of the plaques had "blemished" areas - looking "cloudy" or sun-faded or similar to what you get on paper when an inkjet printer is starting to run out of ink or printhead might need some cleaning...

The 4 plaques in the middle have blotchy areas - more noticeable in person with naked eye than crappy cell phone pic. Bottom right is due to uneven lighting conditions. 3rd plaque down on right side is most noticeable in this picture.

Bottom plaque most noticeable in below pic (2 areas, middle left and 3 oclock right) - middle plaque has it around bottom left, 7 oclock area:

The next 3 pics below are the same 3 plaques (1 good, 2 not so good) but shuffled to hopefully even out changes in appearance due to lighting:

Good in middle

Good at top

Good at bottom

Top plaque below probably the most evenly colored:

The next two pics are comparing an ok one with a not so great one:

Last two pics:

I used ***dry erase marker to point out blotchy areas*** (these are different layouts than the ones in the post above) - again, some you can (hopefully) see just from these pics and some are more noticeable in person.

They're still playable so I'm not going to request a refund or anything (Kristil already accommodated me for a refund on something else and I don't want to be "that guy"), they're just not "excellent" - hopefully, I just got a bad batch...

ETA - regarding dry erase marker on ceramic chips bolded above - DON'T DO THIS!!! Between the pen itself being really old and the apparently quite porous surface of ceramic, the marker did NOT come off easily! I had scrub with a toothbrush And toothpaste and then a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol (maybe reversing that order might have been more effective?) to get it (almost) all off!

I’m guessing jpg format and RGB colors contributed to the washed out colors.

During the initial process, I asked if .jpg format was ok and was told that ".jpg works" (they didn't reply any further - e.g. they didn't say anything along the lines of '.jpg is acceptable but vector would yield better results' - perhaps I should have asked...).

I was expecting a loss in resolution/image quality but for me, the bigger issue was the inconsistency - some plaques were pretty good and others were not so good...

I can’t really tell, honestly, but I know the image clarity was an issue when I had some labels made by them forever ago.

I am biased, though: I don’t really like this style of plaque - and I have some for my ACF set. I greatly prefer the Matsui/MSK style - don’t know the names of the styles.

Sorry they weren’t what you wanted. Okay hey look good to me. What’s all the Latin on the back? Obviously something about being prepared with your steel or something.

Thanks for the feedback and support! I'm not really a plaque kind of guy - I had purchased something else from BrPro that didn't work out and they were kind enough to issue a refund so I wanted to turn around and use that $ for something else from them so... :D

These plaques are Ok, they are pretty close to my design - I just wish they didn't have the blemishes. If I had known they were going to turn out that way, I would have picked something else to buy from them (but after the fact, it's not so bad that I'll make a big stink about it or throw them away - I'll keep them as is).

(#1) (Igitur) Qui Desiderat Pacem Praeparet Bellum is basically the long version of (#2) Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum (#2 probably being a little more popular/known).
(#1) Therefore let him who desires peace prepare for war.
(#2) If you want peace, prepare for war.
It's a work related motto. :)
