Be careful trying to pry out the cup holders with your fingers, I sliced my finger open on one. :-(

Rails removed, you see how crappy the "felt" is.

There is A LOT of glue under those cup holder. Hit it with the hair dryer, it will come right off.

I added foam underneath, i think it makes a difference, but im pedantic about things like that.
For the sake of ~$20, why not. Just use some upholsterer's glue to stick it to the table.

Speed cloth on, looking nice.
I messed up on initial felting, and didn't pull it tight enough.
Don't be like me, make sure you pull the cloth TIGHT,

Used Zip-ties to organize all the cables.

I also added deeper cup holders... Thats what this picture is about.

100%
I’d be surprised to hear somebody modified one of these tables without adding foam. It makes a big difference, and as long as you’re in there, why not?
Nice work

I left the original padding on mine when I peeled the old felt off. It didn't see any reason to replace it.

I will be in the mod process as soon as i get my new cloth from chanman

did anyone mod the ESPN table with lights, any additional steps i need to worry about

Sorry that I'm reviving this old thread, great work by the way! I'm curious how the USB ports have held up? Contemplating adding them to my Barrington but I'm worried about the stability/structure of the table sides. I'm afraid that drilling a hole through them will weaken them when moving it around and I don't want it to crack.

Have you had any issues over the last year and a half?

They work great, though most of my players don't use them. Go figure. It's a nice to have. But adds a lot to the cost. And now I'm thinking, why don't I do USB c... I have no need but would be fun.

The USB ports I got from Amazon.

In all honesty, the mod that made the most difference (other than the playing surface) was deeper cup holders.
