Hi all,

I am working on a design for my custom CPC tournament set, for which I have a name/"branding" of my "card room."
But now, I am starting to acquire THC solids for another tournament set.

For those of you who have named your game/card room and have multiple custom tournament sets, how do you go about distinguishing the inlays for each set with the same branding? Do you have different names/branding for each set?

I am wondering if I should design a slightly different label with the same card room name/logo, or go a completely different direction with the solid set (i.e. totally different name/logo, like Flamingo, or some other fantasy casino I can make up).

I just want to hear some of your thoughts on this topic. Would it tilt you to go all-in on a "branding" of your game, but then have a set that does not adhere to design at all? Is it too redundant to have two T25-base tournament sets, especially if they both have the same or similar inlays?

As always, thank you for all the insight!

There is no right answer. I have my “name” which I came up with for my first THC set which was semi custom solids. I really have settled in on this name and my group of players has as well. I have played around with different names and design ideas but I keep coming back to the same one. I just had Gear do labels for my new tournament set that uses more desirable spotted THCs and I did basically the same exact logo design just with tweaks since it will replace my solids tournament set and that won’t be in use any longer.

I am planning a cash set now and plan to stick with the same name but am going in a completely different direction with the design. But who know, I may come back to using the same font for consistency and just change the surrounding artwork.

But I wouldn’t do exactly the same design and artwork for two sets that you intend to continue using. I would use it as a fun opportunity to flex your creativity.

I was contemplating the same thing. I have a CPC HHR set currently being designed. I also have a cash set of Paulson RHC that are going to be re-labeled and I haven’t decided if I am going use the exact same inlay or design something different with the same name.

This was my set that I created years ago

As others have said, there is no right answer. At one point I had about 15 different ideas for "themes," that I was considering. I finally decided to go with a tribute set to my Grandpa that I knew I would never "outgrow" for a semi-custom relabel project (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/harolds-club-semi-custom-pr0n.65398/) . I'm working on a few other sets right now and I'm considering doing one for my hometown, the university I attended, and many other potential themes. The only real advice I would offer is avoid using the same chips and/or color combos across multiple sets so as to avoid getting them mixed up.

I totally dig what @viet rounder did, and as @allforcharity mentioned with the different color background.
I also have a ton of ideas left over from when I was deciding on a theme for my first CPC set, similar to @chicubs1988, and I LOVE those from @wonderpuddle. Perhaps I'll use this as an opportunity to play with all the ideas I had/have.

I think I can't go wrong so long as I don't use the exact same inlay (something I was contemplating prior to this thread). Thanks everyone!

for my cash set I went all out with the inlay and edge spots. Then when I did my tournament set a wanted it to be more simple both in the inlay and edge spots, but I kept the same name/theme.

I have another custom set that is a completely different theme as well. And a semi-custom relabel set that was designed with some friends on here that also have their versions of the design. So do whatever you like, there is now wrong way, just what makes you happy.

Unless they turn out ugly, then that would be wrong :bag:
