Hi there, I know nothing about poker chips but I found these in a garage clear out. I’ve done some searches and they look a little different to the photos of the other mullet bay $25 chips that come up. I was wondering if anyone could give me some idea of what they are worth if I were to list them on eBay.

Many thanks for your help

Well, I guess I have to respond here. Congrats on the find. But I'm wondering if you found these as part of a set, or in a larger quantity -- say, 200 or so of the $25s.

I've bought every set of Mullet Bays that have appeared on eBay for the last 10 years, except one. That one set included 200 of these solid-spot $25s, and consisted of:

200 x $5 Red Chips
200 x $25 Green Chips
100 x $100 Black Chips
9 x $500 White Chips

It did not sell on eBay, in January 2011, and I have no idea where it ended up. I didn't want the set because my much larger set was based on the other $25, and I didn't like the solid spots.

The chip in your picture seems to have a distinct bluish tint. Is that color accurate? Are they all that color?

So the value of your chips will depend on how many there are, their condition, whether they're part of a larger set, and finding someone who wants them. Particularly since CiC chips are not very popular right now, my guess would be that your range would be from $1 to $1.50 per chip. And that would be here, not on eBay.

If you have those nine $500 chips in the above picture, they are worth more. I would definitely be interested in them, and perhaps in the entire set.

FWIW, I have just over 2,000 GCMBs, including 41 of the $500s, and I know of no other Mullet Bay sets anywhere except that one in the picture from 2011 that got away.

Wow thanks for your reply. I have 20 of these chips. I would definitely describe them as more green and pink. I am pretty sure I purchased these on eBay but most likely about 15 years ago. They were wrapped in paper when I found them, they need a bit of a clean. Thank you for the value, it's not really worth my time wrapping and posting them for $20.

Thanks again

BTW, in case you weren't aware of the history, this casino was destroyed by Hurricane Luis on Sept 5 1995. Nothing has been built on the site to this day.

My wife and I had been there the year before the hurricane struck, which is why I started collecting my set.

You might make more money from individual chip collectors posting them as single chips on eBay. Good luck!

Thanks for all this info!

i know this was a while ago, do you still personally have your GCMB chips?

Ah, I emailed him (her?) this morning. It looked like ~800 chips in the one photo in the case. But the two styles of $25s limit the set's use a bit.

Nice pickup. If you decide you want to sell any of the 8-spot (darker) $25s, give me a shout. :cool

Reading your posts helped me decide Ok buying this set. It just happened to be that the seller lived about 2 towns over.

It was a lady who made the post but when I showed up I spoke with her husband. He told me more about this history of how he obtained them and told me he purchased a 25,000 chip lot back in 2010 at an auction. He said that he had sold multiple lots over eBay between 10-12 years ago and these were the last of the ones he had they’ve been in his basement over 10 years.

definitely will let you know about the 25’s. I already figured I’d have to split part of if before I even got it.

How many 1’s have you obtained over the years? I’m assuming may probably didn’t make it off the island.

I have a few 5's and 25's, always in need of more please

I'd be up for anything, but two barrels of the green/pink would be perfect, not sure what larry is hunting for
