Introducing a concept and interest thread for the MTTD 7 (rescheduled as the Northwoods Edition)
If we get a decent group of guys who can commit to this weekend, I'll make it happen.
It will be a challenge, as stuff isn't as easy to come by in in the middle of nowhere

Poker
There will always be one table available for 25c/50c NL Hold'em w/ $100 max buy ins. There will be 1-2 other tables, likely dedicated for mixed games, as interest dictates.
On Saturday there will be 2-3 tables for the Main Event, and for cash games. The Main Event tables will be used for cash games as they become available.
Chips we will have in play or available (guests sets welcome)
ACTIVITIES
I love the poker, but we could always start a tad later each day to give some time for the amazing activities?
ATVing I expect the Thursday crew to be smaller, and I could accommodate a few folks to go ATVing in the afternoon on Thursday. There's room for 6 of us (4 ATVs, but two of them seat 2). The area trails can be muddy and wet in May!
Fishing The lake has lots of fish, we have a few poles. Knock yourself out!
Kayaking/Paddleboarding. The lake is often mirror calm, and perfect for paddle sports!
Shooting There's a nearby free shooting range, and it's very nice.
MTBing There are amazing single track trails nearby. Lugging a bicycle here might be a challenge?
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lots of bedrooms! 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and wifi in the northwoods (such a rare thing).
Here are some pics of the venue!

Food
Like the last couple years, I will not be collecting set amounts to cover snacks and beverages for the weekend. I budget/spent around $20 per person, so donations towards snacks are appreciated, but I'm not going to be the snack police (not keeping track of who has contributed).
ALL FOOD IS TENTATIVE AT THIS POINT (these are just working notes, suggestions welcome).
Thursday
Grilling out (weather permitting)
Jamaican Jerk chicken and WI Brats (with all the fixins).
Friday
Lunch TBD
Dinner (Pizza from Home Slice)
Saturday
Lunch TBD
Dinner TBD
Snacks/Drinks
Will be on the house, but contributions welcome.
It's WI, so you know we will be doing brats at some point!!!

Lodging
The Lazy Bear Lodge sleeps 11 (sharing queen sized beds), but people can certainly bring air mattresses (I might have one or two as well). If we get over that, there's The Great Northern Motel which I just priced at $125/night for two queen beds. It's 5 minutes away, and houses one of my go-to restaurants in the area (The Wolf's Den Bar and Grill).
=============================================
Airport
I got no idea... Fly into Madison or Minneapolis? If you have your pilots license, there's a small airfield in Manitowish Waters, 15 minutes away.
=============================================
RSVP
I have vacation for the dates. But there's a lot that will go into making this happen. I essentially have to bring up an entire poker room and all food on the trip up... I think I have it figured out, but please don't book any expensive flights quite yet. Let's call this thread "exploratory" but I'm at 95% sure we can make this happen.

(F)AQ's
Q- What kind of cool ‘meet-up” shwag will I get for coming to the MTTD?
A. There are tons of things in store, from a laminated ID badge to commemorative chips, and more. In short: Lots, but you’ll have to wait and see. See pic below.
Q- Will there be vegetarian meal options?
A. Yes, beer is made with barley and hops.
Q- Where would you recommend I stay?
A. The Lazy Bear Lodge (first come) or the Great Northern Motel
Q- I RSVP'd, how do I find out the address?
A- When we get closer, maybe late March or early May, I will PM everyone the event specifics, to include addresses, contact numbers, and last minute updates. FYI, for game safety, organizers (me) reserve the right to turn away those with very low post counts.
Q- What have previous MTTD’s been like?
A- Here are the links to the live blogs from the MTTD 2, MTTD 3, MTTD 4, and MTTD 5. When I attended my first meetup, it was reassuring to see the previous year's thread to know it was legitimate, safe, and worthwhile.
