Montreal and Casino de Montreal - any advice? (3 Viewers)

Ouch. Still probably worth it for me if I don't look at it as a money making opportunity and want to play for fun. Certainly more cost effective than a trip to Vegas.

Hello Aaron,

Thank you for contacting us.
The rake for a $1-2 is 10% max 9$ and for a $2/5, $5/5 and $5/10 the rake is 5% max 15$.
Jackpot rake is always 2$ for every pot of 20$ and more.

The jackpot rake contributes to the 3 bad beat jackpots, 2 for Hold’em and 1 for the Omaha.

Don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any other questions.

Kind regards
Sergio

Well, looks like I wasn't that far off. I seriously question how long 1/2 games can last with an $11 rake every hand.

$75 rake per hand?! That's freaking robbery. Even at the $1/2 or $2/$5 levels, if they're raking 10% of a pot with a maximum of $10 or $20, plus jackpot dollar, plus any other promo dollars they have going on, and then you add on tips for dealers and serving staff bringing you the "free" food and drinks, how in the world can anyone make a profit there??

For 1/2, the rake is an insane (up to) $9 which is twice the rake of New England cardrooms/casinos.

During the wsop whatever it was called, the $75 rake was easy to stomach only because the action was insanely good. Lots of preflop pumping which is not common in casino/cardroom PLO. Many flew in for this month long event so apparently the euro monies were getting dumped heavily.
