So long story short I have 8 sets that comprise of over 14,000 poker chips.
I also have about 50+x decks of cards and accessories.

Should I be concerned driving any of this collection across the border from Canada to the USA? I am moving for work and will also be bringing firearms/ammo with me (form6). In my first pass down with a trailer and SidexSide Yamaha. Thinking this will look rather suspect to have a card rooms worth of chips/guns/trail runner etc....... should I put all of (most?) Of the chips in a moving truck later on? what should I list them as for customs?

Will a large amount of chips see the increase the offs of my moving truck being sent for secondary inspection?

I'd be travelling on a TN Visa for work in healthcare.

Best of luck with your move.
You may want to reach out to Customs ahead of time and ask those questions (unless we have customs agents here as forum members)

My guess would be, if your collection contains chips still live in play, they may be considered as cash value / money. And I think there are restrictions on how much physical money you can bring across the border.

But if your collections are no longer in play, they probably are simply categorized as collectibles and personal belongings. In which case you should be entitled to bring whatever you need with you since you’re moving. As long as your intent isn’t to bring across the border to distribute.

You’re 99% going to be stopped for secondary inspection if you have declared firearms, according to a friend I just asked who works with the CPB.

Non-live, vintage Poker chips fall under chapter 9705 of the HTS. There is no duty or tax associated with the import in this category.

If you are coming through Indy and have some time to eat or hit the casino let me know, I'm sure you'll have to make a few trips?

I will be driving to New Mexico so will likely be passing through Indiana. GPS suggests it's a 26 hour drive so will likely be breaking that up over 3 days since I'll be hauling a trailer. I'll will definately be making a few runs. Initially my plan is to drive my car/trailer and SxS down and once I find a more permenant house (likely will buy something with the plan to stay) I'll head back to coordinate moving and either drive the moving truck or employ folks to drive for me.

I don't think it would be good for me to stop other than to sleep with my trailer/SxS and firearms/ammo in the car
...I may even try and push to just a couple of roadside nap stops just to get all of that stuff down to a more secure location, then consider gambling stops on subsequent trips.

I have been looking at homes with the option if a games room or at least outdoor covered patio space for the same so will be hosting down the road in Rio Rancho.

Well if you get into a situation where you require some help it's good to know who is close by.
If you are passing through Indy and want some insight as to places to stay or best food along a route let me know.

Yep! Numismatic refers to anything that is currency-related. Could be coins, tokens, and yes, even poker chips.

Feel free to ship them here. I can meet you wherever you go in Tennessee to hand deliver to you.
