Mixed CPC & Paulson Set - Stupid Idea? (1 Viewer)

So I just acquired a casino used RHC/THC cash set. (I'm still planning my CPC cash and tourney sets, but these can be used in the interim, and resold in the future to partially pay for the customs if needed).

It has almost the perfect layout for what I was planning, except of course NO FRACS!!!!

Ideally I would like to get enough RHC chips (either already labeled or suitable for Gear labels) for 2 racks of quarters and one rack of nickels (hot stamps could work as well). Preferred colors are blue, pink, orange or any color that isn't the white/red/green/black of the HS denoms. However it seems that RHC Fracs are rare and pricey, and there don't seem to be a whole lot of possible relabel candidates for sale at the moment.

So, I'm wondering about acquiring some used CPC chips, or purchasing new CPC solids with no inlays and putting HS Frac labels on them.

• Is this a bad idea?
• Will the difference in feel make a huge difference in play?
• Will the relabeled CPC fracs have any resale value whatsoever?

Would like to hear whatever advice and input the PCF community has on this idea.

Also, if anyone has suitable RHC relabel candidates or hot stamps that they are willing to part with for a modest price, please let me know.

I would not mix cpc and paulson. They are both awesome but totally different material. Be patient there are tons of RHC options for reliable.

It's been done, for sure. The FDL mold is closest to RHC, and the Jockey is closest to THC. They feel and sound different, but most non-scrub donkeys wouldn't notice. I could be mistaken, but I believe someone had FDL mold fracs made for for their Stardust Poker Mansion.

As far as I know, only the FDL mold will take a label without milling.

All that said, it's not ideal. It's not terribly hard to find RHC's or THC's for relabeling, or just use starbursts or roulettes for fracs.

I MIX thc AND RHC AND IT BOTHERS ME.... STILL HUNTING FOR THC RADIANT RED. BUT IT BOTHERS ME... I CANT EVEN IMAGINE MIXING DIFF TYPES... BUT TO EACH HER OWN.

You can do anything since it’s your chips. Just like you can wear some Nike basketball shorts and pair them with Gucci leather dress shoes to go out and play basketball with. It’s fine, but it’s just awkward.

I got 2 racks of Chocolate THCs and I know someone with 1 rack of Showboat Grey THCs in the city. They just might be able to take an unlaminated label without milling because they are casino used but still in good condition. PM me, Bart, if you're interested in knowing more. Not expensive.

I use these jockey mold CPC nickels or dimes all the time with my THC sets. Granted they are mixed casino THCs.

Does CPC do the hot stamping?

In case you’re not aware, the Cleveland 1’s are THC, the rest are RHC.

Yes... and these Reds Tavern and Silver Shoe dies are now a standard offering from CPC. Anyone can order them.

Thanks. I probably should have said "mostly RHC cash set" in the OP. I had thought that RHC frac candidates might be cheaper than THC (RHC don't get the same love from some folks here), but you're right, THC would work as well for fracs for this set.
