Maybe a newbie question, but is it unheard of to put a cash set together of chips where each denom is a different style. Chips match within denoms, but different denom are different chip types.

I was wondering if I could use my favorite 1s, 5s, 25s, etc. get a rack or two of each and combine them to make a cash set.

Or is that crazy talk and I should stick with matching sets?

I intentionally did this with my ceramic Icarus set, you can find in my signature, these are all custom to create the mix set

Mixing casinos within a set is not crazy, but IMHO mixing chip types is. Things just feel weird & off if you've got real clay and China clay, or real clay and plastic, or ceramic and plastic in play at the same time. This would be okay if I were to throw a home game with it, despite the RT Plastics frac.

I don’t think it’s crazy at all. Additionally, a person could conceivably be building multiple sets while they’re playing with a mixed table spread. Yes, commonality within denominations but aside from that I say we should what we do.
