I put together a cash and tournament set recently. I noticed something weird happening in my brain. For the tournament set all I wanted was mint chips. Love the colors, sharp edges and textures still present.
When it came to looking for the chips for my cash set I really wanted the dirty birds. I like having GOs mixed in, rounded edges and even some flea bites. I think it might be because it makes me feel like I’m playing in the casino.

Anyone else have this mindset when it comes to their sets?

Don’t think I’ve ever had that thought myself, but I can get onboard with it. There’s something “fancy” and “exclusive” about tournaments that perhaps lends itself towards having mintier, “nicer” things.

I’m personally in fully agreement about used chips though. Love the casino feel to them. They’re easy to shuffle, and for most of my low denom chips, it’s not going to hurt much if one gets broken during play.

As long as you are not mixing mint chips with used chips in the same set, I'm fine. When stacks of 20 don't measure up the same, that's when things get annoying.

I appreciate both minty and used, I'm not going to discriminate.... But there's just something about shuffling used/broken in clay chips that is so good.

I've heard perfectly broken in TRKs are like shuffling butter on a velvet table while floating on a cloud and eating cotton candy. I wouldn't know, I can't afford to get hooked on that kind of sauce.
