This is therapy for tomorrow. At the very least I'll label something!

I saw those on Jeff's chip site after I had the idea but I'm still going with it on a set of some kind. Labels and blanks smuggle much more easy.

Just thought you might get some of the ideas for colors from them.

I was actually playing around with the tool last night to make something like those, too! Nice work, and love the Mikes inlay. If you make the CPC order, any chance of opening the order to add-one to let others get some of those as well (since I'll never own any of the actual chips)? I know there's no volume discount so there's no financial benefit. It would just be spreading the tribute love.

I like them but it would kind of be like the Dunes tribute set.... Nothing beats the real thing ;)

these should be fantastic.

it was discussed pretty extensively at a couple different times over on CT, but i'm still of the opinion that DG Peach is better than either orange for the $5. and i would take a look at samples to see whether DG Saturn might be better for the $1. i have yet to see a new sample set, so i haven't seen DG Saturn in hand.

What looks good on the screen isn't even close in person for sure. I was bored earlier so got out the samples and played around. If this comes to be I think these are the correct colors below. Hope the mold holds out. No diamond square, no go.

IMO Saturn has to much of a greenish tinge. Canary is the way to go.

I need a 500 inlay from Steve just in case I do six denoms. Hope the mold holds out. No diamond square, no go.

This 25¢ is a million times better IMO. The other one wasn't doing anything for me.

I think you have to do a pink quarter in the interest of being historically correct.

As much as I like the red quarter, I think pink is the way to go.

There never was a pink Mapes quarter was there? Mapes did not follow a California scheme for the 1s, 5s, 25s (I believe) so why would I use a pink quarter here if I prefer the Mandarin Red?

An awful lot of Reno quarters are pink.

The $25 for some reason is my favorite. Interesting color combo.

Love this idea. Something good came out of the big auction after all!

Had nothing to do with it really but the timing sucked. Now I'm about to be back and want to make a few deals and try to get three unplayable sets I have going with the trade thread. This was all ready before I even got the 5s and 25s a few weeks ago...short lived ecstasy. I've had a plan to mill TRKs and make something that will work with the real Mapes for a few months now. Since it is mixed I'll only sell off 1 rack each of the 5s and 25s together so I get a third of the investment back. If the mold holds out and I get this done then the mixed set goes on the block I guess.
