I get a lot of emails from people selling chips. Thought you guys would enjoy this one.

Good Afternoon:
I have poker chips and playing cards that were salvaged from the casino floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, after the horrific and historic fire on November 21, 1980. My late wife, Katherine (Kathie), worked at the MGM and was one of the first people to notice and report the fire. The poker chips and cards were gifted to her by MGM management in recognition of her courage. I also have her deposition (from the lawsuit that followed) and other supporting documents.
Kathie was at her station in the coffee shop at the MGM when the fire broke out. She narrowly escaped with her life, as she was frantically urging patrons to evacuate before she finally fled the building. The fireball exploded behind her mere seconds after she ran out the front doors.
The collection includes $25 poker chips and playing cards, visibly damaged by the intense heat and smoke from the fire. I also have her deposition, subpoena and other documents.
I am interested in possibly selling the collection, but have no idea as to the value because I cannot find any comparable items. I believe these to be rare and collectible because I have researched, and the only other pokerr chip that I can find from this fire is a $5 chip in the Clark County Museum (see Mysteries at the Museum, Season 4 - Episode 2, November 22, 2012).
If you could point me in the right direction, I would be most appreciative.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Randy
