Has anyone figured out a way to bring the sheen back on metallic gold Paulsons?

I tried cleaning the spots on a couple Grand Vic $25s with a microfiber damp with Brasso. I think it might have made a slight difference- the gold spots on the face are starting to sparkle a little compared to my control chip, which has that dull grey look. I don't know how much of it is due to the Brasso or the friction rubbing off the top layer of compacted dullness. Not a whole lot of effect on the rolling edge. It didn't seem to harm the chip much so decided to soak one all day and see if it makes a difference. Will report back.

You could try alcohol and meth but I'm fairly certain that only gets the sheen out of things.

On a serious note I have also wondered this because I have a few Mexico 200's. One of which is glisteny and the others dull and blech

Update: Soaking in Brasso doesn't work. The gold edge spots got lighter/faded, but no perceptible change in the shininess and probably made it duller unless there's still a coat of residue on the surface after rinsing. Do not recommend. Maybe something slightly more abrasive could work better?

I still think the initial wipe made a slight difference though. I don't think the soak effects the chip much structurally, the mold and texture are still the same as useless as it was.

I have a rack of the gold Fitz quarters, and they are also in dullsville so I am following with interest. I also have been hesitant to do much as I don't want to ruin the hot stamps. I really do like these chips and I think they almost weigh the official casino 14g weight, damn are they heavy.

TSP is inexpensive and worth a try. Worked well on my Eddie's Fabulous 50's hundos.

Sorry for jumping in old thread, but this might be a good test of this new product:

Although it might be a chemical and financial overkill for just bringing out sheen on edgespots.

hey i saw that on tv but forgot about that stuff, besides chips anyone use it ? wonder how long it lasts, for faded black car trim, silicone based products work for awhile, im guessing there must be some in this, i dont know but thanks for the reminder.............and i do have a few fitz gold quarters i may try it on..stay tuned

oh and i bet a few 8 balls of cocaine would bring back the sheen to its old self ;)

Cool, luckbox. And if you have any leftover, I would try it on some Paulson JB98 100's, that have that metallic gold edgespots. Maybe we could go in on it half-sies?
