Figured I'd start a thread where I can spam some random photos of my chips. Sometimes when I take pictures of my chips, I struggle with finding a suitable thread to post them, so this can be a nice solution for whenever they dont fit elsewhere.

Are those shape-milled, or faux shaped inlays? Either way, the labels are beautiful! And great choice on the chips themselves.

Thank you sir. They are only faux shaped unfortunately. These chips would not be posible to shape-mill, as they are regular inlaid chips originally.

I'm very happy with the set as a whole, and how the labels turned out, though! I've posted some close ups elsewhere before, but I'll see if I can find them and post again. Really like the feel of the textured labels, and the color matching is stellar (except on the yellow, which gear told me upfront that wouldn't come out perfect).

Really like this chip. Unfortunately it has some wierd glue or something on the opposite side. Not sure what it is. It is visible on the rolling edges as well in the picture below. I did try to scrape it off, and it felt like melted sugar. Couldn't get it all off though. Need to experiment a little and see if I can get enough of it off to make it worthwhile. Otherwise this chip can still be a cool chip in a display case where only one side is visible.

Edit:

Here's the backside. As you can see, the scraping did a good job of removing the stuff from the inlay, but the outside of chip looks pretty bad. Especially annoying that it is soaked into the small crowns, and I have a feeling it will be really hard to remove from there. Anyone know how much heat an old chip like this could withstand? Hot/boiling water might make the glue-stuff dissolve? Not really tempting to try that though...

Here's some more pics of my main set. Added a small handful of plaques since I last photographed them. Just 5x 1k and 1x 5k though, for the crazy nights.

I am somewhat annoyed that the $1s are not in perfect shape.. Might end up changing them out at some point, but not sure with what. Guess the mint Jack $1s could be a good option, but I didnt get any of those.

In the emergency room when people coming in after crazy gluing their eyes we use polysporin or vaseline also works under the eyelids to dissolve the glue. I am not sure how it would work on really old glue. But this method is mild enough to use on your eyes so chips would likely be ok.

Thanks for that tip, sir! Will look a bit more into that and give it a try

Some vintage clays. Flower molds. Don't know who made them, any ideas?

Also any tournament gurus that see a natural tourney breakdown here? Could do T25, T100 or T500 base (or I guess anything, really). Milling/labeling these has been in the back of my mind for a while... Kinda wierd breakdown, and I don't need to use all the chips. Unfortunately not full racks except the greens and yellows. I expect it would be kinda hard to add on to the set.

My small PNY set is pretty much finished, and I finally had some time to take some pictures. Still missing 3 PNY $5s as well as a couple of additions to the sample set, so let me know if you have a couple extras.

The breakdown is kinda wierd, but I specifically made it this way to fit the case, and for the set to be usable in a 1/2 game for up to 7 players.

$1x 70
$5x 126 (missing 3)
$25x 131
$100x 41
$500x 2

7x start stacks of 10/18/4 for 200 in chips for my 1/2 game. Add more $25s for higher buyins. Bank of just over 9000 which is plenty to cover bigger buyins/rebuys.

Part one of my journey so far. If international shipping was easier/cheaper, I would probably have "rented" a few more sets during my time on here.

I started out playing with dice chips like most people when I was in high school with my buddies. This was when we first started playing poker around the age of 15, back in 2005 or so. After a while me and one other friend wanted to upgrade the chips and we did check out CT, but unfortunately considering we were poor youngsters with no income and hardly had enough money to play $5 sngs with the buddies every weekend, we decided against it. We did however order a couple of sample sets from a european vendor at the time (mrchipsEU?), just to check out some of the high end stuff. The samples were a couple different designs of ceramics, of which my favorite was some old style EPT replicas, and a sample set of paulson classics. I shuffled those samples sets for hours upon hours on my desk playing online poker way back when, while grinding the $1 sngs on pokerstars. One day another friend suddenly purchased a decent upgrade, which if I remember correct must have been some sort of early china clays? Some sort of star-mold, with paulson classics-like colors and euro-denoms. They were plenty good enough for us at the time, and after that I didnt think about chips for quite a few years.

Fast forward something like 8 years, and I suddenly got an urge to get a poker game going, and was starting to look back into buying proper chips. I remembered the CT site from years back, and also remembered that Paulsons were the best in the biz, so I try to do some research. I quickly realize that things have changed in the chipping world. Paulson are no longer selling chips to the public, and CT is just about dying. I soon find this place though, and start to lurk for a while before making an account and after a few months make my first purchase, - a casino used GV set. I get a great deal and feel content and happy that I finally have secured my own proper set of chips. However as I recieve them I quickly realize I need to add a rack of hundreds and some 500s/1000s to finish the set and make it perfect for my future game. After adding some higher denoms including a barrel of par a dice 500s (that I overlabled with labels from Gear), the set was complete. This was for playing 1/2 or 5/5.

$1x100
$5x400
$25x200
$100x100
$500x20
$1000x2

While I did enjoy the GVs, I was not in love with them, and I was still hanging around on PCF a lot. There were nice chips changing hands regularly as always, and I couldnt help but dream about something nicer. For some reason I really liked the bicycle tire GV $5s. They were so smooth to shuffle, and the salmon (?) edgespot was a nice touch. However both the $25s and $100s had way too much metal flaking for my taste and although the colors and spots on the hundo is pretty bonkers, I just couldnt get past those flakes. The sunset picture inlay was also pretty horrible to be honest.

In the autumn of 2016, the HS cleveland chips was released by Thechiproom. The hype was real, as you all know when Jim does a sale, and it had been quite a while since the last one. I dont know how long, but it was at least before i joined, which at this point was about a year ago.

I decided to list and sell my GVs to get some funds for the HS cleveland sale. And boy I was very happy that I did. I manged to score a really nice set directly from Jim in the first sale, and was super happy with the upgrade. I did a few small addons and ended up with a set I was really happy about. Even though I was not a huge fan of the black inlay, it was at least somewhat discreet and a lot nicer than the sunset inlay from the GVs. And this set had a lot to offer. I liked the colors of pretty much all the chips. The $1s had very nice colors and were my first THC chips. I really liked their feel. I also loved the colors and spots of both the fives and twentyfives, although the latter had a hint too much wear for my taste. The bearclaw hundos were a bit muted, but still super nice and the "floral" 6pie $500s are really unique. The blazing and smooth oversized $1ks made a nice top end off the set, and the fact that I could even have a couple authentic $5ks and $25k made it all pretty special.

In time though, I started to crave a MINT set. The wobbly stacks of used chips, and especially the different stack heights between the denoms was starting to really annoy me. The chipping sickness was slowly getting worse....

New find that I'm pretty excited about. Found these for cheap on FB marketplace in the US. They were apparently bought a long time ago (likely from paulsons store in Vegas?) and are stamped with the sellers initials.

I've pretty much never seen spotted Diamond molds before, so it's a fun little set.

Won an auction on pcf the same day (!) as I found these online. Wierdly great timing. In the auction was a barrel of the yellow Diamond molds and 12 purple chips matching the ones from the FB find, making it 160 total.

Breakdown:
75 blue
160 purple
75 red
(20 yellow)

If anyone has any of these, please reach out! Would like to add on if possible.

Made several big chip purchases lately. Lake Elsinores a while ago from thechiproom and then a set of Tigers. Both of them the biggest purchases I've made in chipping ($), and thus I'm in the process of deciding if I should sell somethint. Have taken my current big sets out for a photo shoot to help me decide. Although they are awesome for what they are, the IGs are already listed for sale.

If anyone has PCA secondaries they would be interested in trading for Lake Elsinores, let me know. I'm contemplating my options and trading the LEs for PCAs and upgrading my PCA set to a proper one without relabels is one of the options on the table.
