Hi all, this one is mainly for the UK chippers..

Does anyone have any Majestic samples they have lying around, very tempted with these chips but wanted to see samples first.

Thanks.

if you're willing to pay for postage from Canada, I'll send you the few I have.

Send me a PM with your mailing address etc and I’ll weigh these and get you a quick quote.

Iam sure I have a sample around. Happy to send it to you

I had china clays in the beginning and eventually sold them to get better chips. IMO there are better chips in a similar price range. Do you research and get more samples before buying a full set of majestics.

If buying china clay be ready to wash them all by hand and then oil them all.

These are good:

The above linked chips don't stink, don't require washing, and don't require oiling. They will also hold up better to use.

Certainly not telling you what to do just trying to help. I wish someone would have told me this before I invested in 1,000 china clay chips.

i just upgraded to another set of chips from my Majestics... I liked them, though i found them to be a bit slick. The ceramics @Lemonzest listed above are great... I almost bought some Tiki Kings and they are practically the same (except art obviously)

Yeah I’ve got to be sure first as its not cheap getting chips into the UK, just booked up to go to Vegas September next year so was gonna order them and get them delivered to the hotel..

I have 2 barrels of Mandalay bay 1s, a couple of Native light Chios and samples of Dunes, Pharaohs and Desert Palms China clays that I got off one PCF member..

Looking on the site you linked I like the look of the Valentino’s.. are they the same as the chips you mention??

What did you go with after the Majestics?

If you are going to be in Vegas why don't you harvest your own real casino paulsons and use them for your home game? 1 dollar per chip is a great price. When you are done with them in 1 year or 10 years you can sell them and recoup your costs or even return them to the casino. I use white monte carlo chips as quarters (got labels from a member hear called Gear) and use the blue Caesar 1 dollar chips at face value.

Once you handle real paulson casino chips all the others just feel cheap. Just my 2c.

I have never handled Valentino's so can't tell you anything about those.

I use my majestics as a travel set/take it to games away from home.

My main sets are a large set of boardwalks (you might be able to see some on sale in the classifieds), Tikki Kings cash set and a Paulson WTHC tournament set.

Although I am planning a custom CPC set at some stage.

I have thought about harvesting chips from Vegas and read some posts on here on the best ways, going for 5 nights but read it can be time consuming.

I agree about the feel of real Paulsons with what I have at home and would prefer them also but obviously a lot more money.

If we use Dunes CC for example, they are 0.42 USD/ea. from Apache. A casino chip is a buck each so about double the cost. The big difference as I said above is that after 1 year or 10 years the casino chip will hold its value (maybe even increase).

cc chips will most certainly decrease in value and be worth about 50% or less of their new cost in a couple years with wear and tear.

Harvesting can be easy if you have a plan and know what you want. Most poker rooms will sell you racks and racks of 1s. Just buy 3-4 racks of 1s. At night in your room or even in the poker room sort through them to get a rack or more that are in good shape.

-Bellagio
-Aria
-Ballys
-Caesars
-Flamingo
-Silver Sevens (off strip)
-Sams Town (off strip)
- MGM Grand
- Golden Nugget (Fremont, Old Vegas)

All of the above casinos have poker rooms which you should be able to buy chips from without much trouble.

Again, do whatever you want. But from my perspective it is an easy decision. Plus you have 1 year to save up :)
