Jamaican Jerk chicken and WI Brats (with all the fixins).

Friday
Lunch is on your own (we will order something)
Dinner (Pizza) will be ~7 each

Snacks/Drinks
On the house, but contributions welcome.

Lodging

DeForest Hotels
Holiday Inn Express
(9 miles from Trihonda's house)

Comfort Inn and Suite (9 miles from my house)

Windsor Hotels
Days Inn Madison Northeast
(7 Miles from my house)

Waunakee Hotels
Baymont Inn and Suites (2 miles from my house)

Madison Hotels
There are dozens of hotels to choose from in Madison. Plan on anywhere from a 15-30 minute drive (maybe longer depending on where you stay) to Waunakee.

=============================================

Airport

MSN is super convenient and might be the easiest airport you've ever flown in/out of. I think there are a whopping 12 gates and 3 baggage carousels if you check a bag. Seriously. Easy peasy. Touch-down to my front door in 30 minutes. Waunakee is approximately 15-20 minutes from MSN airport. Frontier flies cheap out of Madison (so check them first). Rockford International has cheaper flights, and is 1h15m away, in Rockford, IL.

=============================================

RSVP

Please reply to this thread if you are planning on attending. In your reply please let me know which day(s) you are planning on attending. For planning purposes, I will assume that all attendees are planning to eat the meals provided on a given day. If for some reason you are not planning to eat, please let me know (vegetarian, dieting, etc…). Some of the catered food needs to be ordered well in advance.

Please also reply to this thread with any questions or feel free to send me a PM.

(F)AQ's

Q- What kind of cool ‘meet-up” shwag will I get for coming to the MTTD?
A. There are tons of things in store, from a laminated ID badge to commemorative chips, and more. In short: Lots, but you’ll have to wait and see. See pic below.

Q- Will there be vegetarian meal options?
A. Yes, beer is made with barley and hops.

Q- Where would you recommend I stay?
A. As stated above, the hotels are very close. It’s all highway running between Waunakee and DeForest, so plan on a short commute either way. Personally, my preference would be the Waunakee Hotel for location (right off the highway). It’s a 3 minutes to my place. However, you can’t go wrong with any of the hotels listed. PLEASE Reserve rooms ASAP. They tend to fill up. You can always cancel your room later if you find better or whatever.

Q- I RSVP'd, how do I find out the address?
A- When we get closer, maybe late March or early May, I will PM everyone the event specifics, to include addresses, contact numbers, and last minute updates. FYI, for game safety, organizers (me) reserve the right to turn away those with very low post counts.

Q- What have previous MTTD’s been like?
A- Here are the links to the live blogs from the MTTD 2, MTTD 3, MTTD 4, and MTTD 5. When I attended my first meetup, it was reassuring to see the previous year's thread to know it was legitimate, safe, and worthwhile.

Well...now's as good a time as any to plan my first meetup... I'm in. Maybe I'll stay an extra couple of months and watch the Crossfit Games:)

I always enjoy repeat attendees, and it’s great to see old friends again... but I love the fact that 3 of the 4 first RSVPs are from new folks! So looking forward to my next meetup in MN this month. I’m sure I’ll see a few of you there.

I’m toying with the idea of a deeper stacked main event. Likely 20k ish. Any thoughts?
I always liked the structure of the event with 3 tables running. Lasted about 6-7 hours which is perfect as then even a final tableist could play cash Saturday night.

Is there any interest in touring the local New Glarus Brewery? They make the infamous Spotted Cow that everyone seems to like.

When Gil (Albino Dragon) came to the MTTD a few years back, he and I went on a tour of the brewery. It was a lot of fun! I was thinking that we could do a tour for those interested either on Sunday afternoon or the Thursday afternoon preceding the kickoff cookout on the 16th?

New Glarus is a quaint little town of Swiss heritage, and most of the buildings look like Swiss chalets. The brewery is no different. New Glarus is less than a 30 minute drive.

According to Google maps it’s just over 3000km from my home to Madison. That would be 2 hard days of riding to get there. I would love to attend a meetup someday...

Eric - please PM me your contact info so I can search for a nearby airbnb.
SWEET! I'm excited you can make it. You were one of the main "characters" of my first ever meetup... The WCB 2013. What a crazy adventure this has been since!

Definitely in for Friday for cash and Saturday for Main Event! Will have to hold off RSVPing for Thursday night until closer. If seats fill, no worries.
