Future project I want to do is build a 500 chip set of Luxor 1s. Would love to use them in a home game.

I may need some help harvesting them but goal is to get 500

Does anyone live in the Vegas area who can help?

The quality of the $1s is really poor in the casino. 1 out of 4 is in decent condition.

In addition, there is no poker room. It took me approx 10 visits/ 25+ gambling sessions to harvest 3 racks In good shape. It was easier in 2019-2020 than it is now because their supply is getting beat up....

All of those sessions I played were blackjack. The dealers are extremely picky about coloring up your chips when you leave. I had to strategically pocket chips when a dealer left on break. It's even more difficult now because they recently switched all their side bets to $5 min. In 2019-20 they were min $1 and asking for 20 ones and pocketing the best ones was way less suspicious.

The cage is also no help. They just tell you buy them from the tables. Then tables are hesitant to give up their chips....

I did have decent success asking for waitresses walking around if they had any $1 chips. I'd give them a $5 and ask for 4 white chips. They are much more likely to give them to you than the cage. Of course you have no guarantee they will be in decent shape. And it has to be very very busy in the casino for them to have enough chips on their tray.

Just some considerations here

I'm sure my $300 in chips probably cost me $1500 in gambling losses and $200 in tips... But it makes them that more special to me. The Luxor $1 is an absolutely beautiful chip.

Fwiw I’m at Luxor right now and 1s are relatively sharp.

Beautiful chips I would pay for a couple of racks of these. Luxor 90's chips is what got me in this game to begin with, saving them from trips with my Dad.

Those look nice. I think I'm going to have to pass on making this a project right now. Maybe I'll buy a couple here and there, but clearly I can see this is going to take some time and resources :(.

But it will get done!
