I was hoping to be able to fill 2 tables for a $30 buy in holiday weekend home tourney but in the end there were only 6 players. This was the idea that I came up with to save the night and everybody really enjoyed themselves and I was able to show off the new WTHC set. I billed it as the WSOP (Westchester) and changed the structure to 3 different $10 buy in, winner take all tourneys. The first one we started T2500 with 8 min rounds, designed as a sit n go just to take the chill off, went about 60 min.

2nd tourney used the same fast paced blind structure but increased the stack to T7500.

Main event deep stack tourney #3 required switching out WTHCs for Nevada Jacks. My goal was to attempt to replicate a WSOP main event deep tourney run experience, and the staring stacks were almost T250K using almost all of the high denom chips and plaques available. We then used the actual WSOP main event blind structure with 10 min rds. This tourney was so much fun and really transformed a disappointing turnout into a smashing success.

Sounds like a good time, but also

I thought today was going to be a big turnout for my home game tourney, 20 invites out there, should have maybe a full table. Congrats on getting the game. 6 is just enough IMHO to still have fun and save the night!

Being able to think on your feet certainly makes you a good host. It's always nice to salvage a poker night when things don't go according to plan.

Typically if I think I'll have only 4-6 players I try to do a dealers choice cash game. These are some of the most fun poker nights. And, they allow you to learn other games more cheaply than if you went to your local casino. Not to mention you get to play games such as 31 or acey deucey that aren't poker, but still fun and competitive.
