I’m looking to get up to 1000 chips. Outlaw or something like them. We usually play with 50c 1$ 5$ 10$. Any recommendations or anyone have any for sale? Looking to spend around. $150

Ok. I am going to try here. Please don't think I am trying to put you down here or anything like that. We were all new once. I remember what it was like.

1000 chips? I have a 1200 piece set that I spread 2 full tables with, and I have never come close to using them all. Tell us more about your game and we can help you better

Outlaw or something like them
Wow ..... OK ..... Ummm ...... Outlaw chips are slugged plastic. While some are better than others, they are generally not good as a whole. I am not going to sit here and knock them though. At their price point they are effective, but most people here won't waste their time on them. If this is the level you desire, then anything you find on Amazon will fit here.

Yeah .... When I was first trying to "take my home game up a level" I had a similar budget. So I waited and continued saving. I know how it is. I am a blue collar worker with 2 kids so I know money doesn't grow on trees, but at that price point you won't find anything worthwhile for chips. On the plus side, there are things in that price point you can do to help your game. While better chips didn't help get my home game going, better chairs did. Plastic cards are a nice touch too. I found a Barrington table at that price point, and while it isn't a great table it certainly isn't bad. The hot dog roller seems to have it's own fan base. The 50 inch TV I found at a pawn shop made my poker room popular on Sundays during football season. Don't think that chips are the end all and be all. In all reality they are the final touch.

^ completely agree.

If you have a typical game of 7-10 players and I assume from the chip denominations you posted, you're playing a .50/1 game, I would recommend the following breakdown for a cash game:

100x .50 (or .25 if you want the option to play lower stakes)
200x $1
300x $5
80x $25
20x $100

Steps lower that 4-5x between the denoms are ineffective and you get more for your money if you don't go for $10 chips.

700 chips are on the upper end of what you would ever need for one table. You can get by fine with 500 chips as well.

I have some metal slugged plastics that hold a nice place in my heart. Nothing wrong with them :) It is like when you buy your first used car with your own money. Not the best, not the worst, and you always remember your first car.

I’m sorry I posted in the wrong area. And we usually do a $100 buy in. 8-10 people. Can buy in again if you’re knocked out. So usually 15 buy ins max. Start with 50c small and $1 big blind. We have the dice and I wanted to get something better.

We do $100 buy ins so we don’t use the $25 and $100 chips. $10 max. So we can cash out easily anytime by using the chips value.

I ended up getting the Monaco casino. 50c 1$ 5$ 10$. Thanks for the input!! This is my first set above the dice. Seems like my budget doesn’t really allow anything better for now. I’ll save and come back for more info in the next set.

If you are patient you can find some bargains on offer up. Someone dumping their husbands old chips is usually looking to get 100 bucks. You will have to sort through a million dice chips but eventually a set will pop up in your range that makes you happy. I have found 1000 ceramics for under 400 and 1000 Monaco's for 150. I have a ton of dice chips and other odds and ends i pick up just because its cheaper than buying a new case and the cases are often in good shape lol.
