I love the design of the Casino Royale chips used in the movie, especially the plaques. I'd love to get a set made with the $5,000/$25,000/$100,000 chips and the $500,000/$1,000,000 plaques but I'm having a really hard time finding high-quality ones that are movie accurate.

So far I've found/purchased some off Apache and although the chips look good, I think I'd rather have them in ceramic. The plaques from Apache feel amazing but they are pricey and look a bit different from the movies (especially the blue one).

Does anyone know where I can find this set in a high quality? Or if the designs are floating around out there so I don't have to make them myself? I think it would be so awesome playing with this set!

Looking for help turning these Casino Royale movie chips and plaques into a design file so I can get the chips printed in ceramic and the plaques made out of acrylic.

Any help converting them/finding design files that already exist/finding a place that prints them already for cheap would be awesome!

I have gotten a few chips and plaques from Apache but I really want them printed in ceramic at 10g so I've been talking to some Chinese suppliers.

Thanks!

Slightly confusing post... the chips in the movie were made by Cartamundi a Belgium company. The chips that Apache sells are basically exact replicas, do you mean you want to redo the plaques in ceramic? Is this simply based off a price point? Because you mentioned the MSKs not being exactly like the originals... ceramics will be that much further off from original.

As @JustDave said above the closest to original quality plaques were made by Matsui and are usually around $45 - $50 each!! Not sure if they would do another run or not which would bring the price down. Also FYI the reason the original plaques were not directly reproduced was copyright issues, They had to very slightly from original... wording and color.

I love the MSK version of these plaques but I understand the concern on pricing. I wish you the best of luck on this set!

I would definitely recommend getting samples of ceramic plaques and make sure you will be happy with that before going through all of the work designing the plaques... then realizing it's not what you wanted. If you go with a Chinese product they typically don't care about copyright issues, but if you are looking to use a company like BR Pro you may want to ask if they are even willing to cross those copyright lines. Many times they will not!

My Casino Royale set is mostly the older 08 slugged chips, but they never made 25k or anything higher in that series.. so they are kind if mixed together! Still occasionally working on purchasing the plaques a little at a time! Definitely a back burner project with many other sets that have taken my attention away from these.

Mostly after joining this forum and realizing it is possible to build a Bond set of 05 Casino De Isthmus made by Paulson, just a far superior set with custom Ceramic Octagons for higher denoms, and soon MSK plaques to continue up in denoms but stopping at $500k.

Best of luck on the hunt! Looking forward to seeing what you decide, I think many of us getting into chipping were obsessed with Bond chips, at least at one point! Lol

I've got MSK plaques and the Matsui Plaque, the Matsui is nicer, but almost anyone without being faced with both of them would not be turning their nose up at the MSK by any means. @bloone the easiest way to tell the difference between the two vendors is the Matsuis I've seen are completely flat on top whereas the MSKs have a raised lip around the edge. The other difference is that Matsuis are "Casino Royal" and the MSKs are "Casino Royale".

Ceramic plaques on the other hand are a completely different beast. I've had a few from BR and sunfly now. Very, very different. I doubt our european friends would even really recognize them as plaques and they just aren't my cup of tea.

@Ben8257 That CDI GB for the plaques made me want to get into that set and do a high roller set with 2 or 3 chips denominations and 2 or 3 plaque denominations but I got offered another amazing set at the same time and couldn't pull the trigger.

Can't wait to see how they come out.

The chips and plaques in the movie are actually made by BG, not Cartamundi. Cartamundi just made the promotional chips after the movie. That being said, the Apache chips would be much more accurate to the movie than ceramics, and if you really wanted accuracy, you could get Abbiati plaques with real lunettes instead of MSK or Matsui plaques, but they would cost about $10/plaque even with a group buy order of 500+ plaques.

I actually didn't get in on the group buy. With the number of $5k and $25k I needed it would have been insanely expensive. I went with my own design based off the original CDI plaques

That was the first shipment. Again I know I loose a bit of the wow factor, but we love Octagons in the set as they don't take up as much space on the table... and the price was much better.

My $100ks and $500ks are going to look very similar to the group buy plaques other than color changes and obviously denoms. A lot of people are ditching the T25 chip so I am prepping the set for the next phase of poker!! Lol

40 players, 100k starting stacks 500BB first level 100/200. We will see how it goes!

I'll be doing my own custom version of these "soon" via CPC and MSK. I don't mind if others are interested I'm tagging on for more than samples, but playable sets won't exactly be cheap.
Absofreakingloutely. I could see using the plaques and then maybe getting Gear labels to add to milled chips.

I know just per plaque Matsui runs more than MSK, but does MSK have the 215 setup fee that Matsui has or something comparable?

Dunno. I'm likely still a few months out from a final plaque design, but my order will most likely exceed 200 plaques so maybe I'll get a small deal.

Aren't the MSK Casino Royale plaques stock items there?

Also, the "Royal" on the Matsuis is a deal-breaker for me.

You know, I think about this thread more than I'm comfortable with.

I've looked for even passable casino royale chips to go with Casino Royal/e plaques and haven't found anything even decent. Really just the super cheap ones that apache sells.

Well, feel free to look over the design thread, and lend your critical eye.
