I have been collecting racks of used hot stamped chips and decided to put them together and make a tourney set. I am going to (attempt to) mill them and add a custom label.

So far I have:
300 - Ed Dorado Club $0.50 (T25)
300 - Lucky Derby $1 (T100)
200 - Town Tavern $1 (T500)
200 - Lucky Derby $5 (T1000)

So I am looking to add a T5000 and looking for suggestions. Tried to grab a rack or two of Town Tavern $5s but just missed out. I was thinking that the Lucky Derby $100 would look great with this set. Not sure how available a rack of those are? But I'm open to suggestions for other options as well. If you know of other chips out there in similar condition or have a rack laying around that you think would work, let me know.

Thanks.

I like the chip lineup a lot. While I'm not really in the T2000 denom camp, I'll make the suggestion -- how about making the brown chip a T2000?

There are some threads about the benefits of making the jump from a T500 to a T2000 chip denom rather than just doubling to a T1000 denom, even though that seems to be the standard for tourneys. With 200 of each denom T500 & T2000, this set would seem to align with those denom breakdowns. A barrel of Lucky Derby $100s or another chip could be added as T10000s.

I go back and forth between T1000/T5000 and T2000/T10000. And either would really work. I'll have to play with the poker chip calculator and see if one brings me any real benefit over the other. I think I read a @BGinGA breakdown on this and there is a point in which one is a benefit over the other with regards to maximizing stack with minimal chips, rebuys, color-up, etc. I'm not there though. Maybe if this were a CPC custom set or more expensive chips and I was building it for 50-60+ person tourney, then yea, way more interested in all that. But I think at the level of this set, gonna go with my gut and what I prefer ( which depending on the day, changes o_O ).

As for the 5th chip, I have secured a barrel of Lucky Derby $100s ( just wainting for them in the mail )! But of course, I'm already thinking about changing things up.

I'm pretty solid with the first three, but thinking that the butterscotch Lucky Derby $5 looks better than the dark brown.

But, I only have 80 of them. Now sure how hard it will be to locate 120+ more?
Then there is the Joker's Casino $5 which would be a possibility to replace the brown/butterscotch LD?

But that is what makes this hobby fun. :D

Bump. Still looking.

I had secured a rack of Lucky Derby $100s. Paid for them and they were shipped and FedEx lost the package. Not so Lucky Derby after all. :( Luckily, the seller, @BiGGyT, was totally great about it and refunded me the cash. Thanks again for being awesome chipper!

So that still leaves me needing a 5th chip for my T5000. Would love to find another rack of LD $100s but open to other chips that works. Would love to see what you all have to offer. Again, looking for used hot stamped chips in the cali color pallet.
