TL;DR - Guy apparently has 4000 Ewing mold chips from Kairos casino and is trying to sell 3000 below. I paid him a shit ton in full for all 4000 and he's still actively selling the same exact chips (he does not have additional as far as I know). Don't engage him or try to buy them (he's asking Western Union) until I can clear it up. Several chippers are kindly working on it with me.

There is still an outside chance I'm not getting scammed, but odds are fading quickly as I'm being ghosted. PLEASE don't try to give this man, Forrest Smith, any money for his chips. I'll send updates as I get them.

Don't be an idiot like me. (n)

P.S. I had zero intention to flip/resell these chips

Could have been legit until he got reply's from multiple people likely from here - then realized he had a 'business' opportunity...it's honestly amazing how sh***y people can be. Good luck.

on the flip side most people are great. I have sent money to so many strangers with almost all happy endings.

I'm really sorry to hear about this, man, especially since it seems to be occurring to forum members with increasing frequency. I hope you get all of your money back - file with both your payment platform and your credit card company.
I think I'm being scammed right at this very moment for a craigslist ad for a bunch of MD-50 chips I recently paid for. I'll be starting the dispute in two days, and I'm fairly confident I'll eventually get my money back because I paid by Goods and Services.

P.S. I had no idea what a "Ewing mold" was until I Googled it just now.

Any chance that you’ll get any back?
I can file a claim with Western Union, but not sure of the efficacy. I believe he has the chips because I've never even heard of that casino, let alone have pictures of 4000 chips, dice, cards, etc. Maybe he's earmarked to actually ship them to me. We had a very detailed conversation on the phone regarding shipping techniques a day after I sent him all the money (I don't see any incentive for him to do that). In that case, I'm not screwed and anyone else is. But that's me thinking optimistically. He could be screwing everyone. We are working to expose him, but I don't want anyone else at risk, please.

Double check to see if money has been collected from his end at western union. If it has not, stop payment and withdraw!
If it had and he’s not returning calls/messages... call the police in his area. File a police report for fraud.
Then send him that information and perhaps that will expedite the process.

Fuck those redneck police, don't you watch The Dukes of Hazzard!? We gotta get Uncle Jesse on the case. I'll call Cletus...

Fingers crossed for you man!

Damn. Right off of vacation and into the fray!
Hope this all turns out good, buddy. It was also nice meeting up with you in Niagara. Hope you had a great time.

Sorry, not familiar enough to understand the joke, I guess.
Rosco P. Coltrane was a bumbling local sherrif in the TV show Dukes of Hazzard (referring to Hazzard County, a rather small, backwoods county). He was far from the epitome of professionalism.

Thanks all for the kind words. After multiple attempts to rectify the situation, we will be turning this case over to the authorities.

I want to apologize to all the folks who tried to purchase these chips. Many people feel slighted, as well they should. This seller has entertained, and still is entertaining, offers for chips that had been purchased by me last weekend. On one hand, I'm pissed that I was foolish enough to get scammed (his name really is Forrest Smith), but I'm glad that others were alerted so that they cannot get scammed too.

To anyone out there who knows someone in NC who can pick up the chips, I want you to be aware that he only has 4,000 chips and they have all been paid for by me. He does not have a secret stash of 10,000 chips - this has been confirmed by multiple sources. If you try to get them in person, you will be buying my chips. If, by some slim chance, I get my chips and learn anything about additional chips, I will NOT pursue and reach out to you fine folks to have whatever horde he has left.

So please, until I find out more information, steer clear of this scammer, despite how tempting it may be. Thank you.

Thanks for the warning. Really hope you get a good resolution, this stuff is BS but especially ripping people off during holiday season seems even more scummy. I was just reading about the guy that paid off everybody’s layaway at Walmart in VT and feeling good about humanity too. Oh well...
