I bought the cheapest vinyl that my local fabric store had, because it was the only kind that they had, that was the exact color I had in mind.
After I got the outside stretched and stapled and the inside straight sections done, I moved on to the inside rounded sections. When I went to stretch the vinyl over this part, it tore like paper.

I have a topper that was made with a cheap vinyl. Any edge anywhere showed and was sharp, as well as any flaw in the foam. I immediately replaced it with quality vinyl, and it looks and feels incredibly much better. People are touching that vinyl 100% of the time during a game. Feel is important.
