I've skimmed through some of the Ultrasonic threads and the chips come out great, but most comment on how they remove dirt and gunk, but does this process "restore" some of the color to the chips? I know oiling will make colors pop but was wondering if this method does more than simply remove dirt and grime without breaking out the scrub brush. Thanks!

In my experience, it does not restore any colour at all. Quite the opposite. When the chips come out to air dry, it may look a bit more faded from the evaporation (surface dissolution?). I do recommend oiling afterward.

Any chips I list for sale I try to send in the best condition possible. But oiling does take a lot of time and I doubt most people would want to pay me a premium just to put oil on them. But for compression clays it does make them look nicer.
