Hey all! I'm from BC canada and have been running monthly home games for 3+ years now.

Was just wondering about anyone's experience with poker chip shops in Las Vegas?? From what I can tell there's Spinettis Gaming Supplies and the Gamblers General store as obvious choices.

My friend is going down for a show later this month and he's gonna see what treasures he can fine there haha. I already have a scroll and Crazy horse cash set, and a scroll tournament set as well, but I am always window shopping!!!

Has anyone been to these shops and what did you find?

Just go to @Spinettis Gaming, nothing else compares
Just be aware that if you want some cool collectible singles this is the place. But most of their sets are plastic crap geared to the mass market. You can find their quality sets on their website, starting at $1399 for 300 chips and up. Any other sets are crap plastic junk. Gamblers General store sells similar junk.

Spinettis was cool for singles/barrels and just browsing around the store. My best scores there were cool casino dice and cut cards however…

Yeah I didn't realize they had complete sets of old used casino chips! If only I had the funds haha.....

Yeah after browsing the site a bit more, I might snag a barrel of majestic 5's, and probably some different stuff I can't find here (those brass tangiers as bounty chips maybe????). If only they carried some royals.....

Welcome to the site, a ton of locals here.

Buying $1 (and maybe $5s) from the casino and taking them home may the cheapest option. Search 'harvesting' on the site to read more. During WSOP it was very easy to get Paris chips.

Best place to buy quality chips in Vegas is at the casinos, aka the rent-to-buy program.
The only way you are sure to get all of your money back if you decide you don't like em

What do you mean? Just keep some leftover chips every time you play it a casino? Or is there an actual program lol?
Not only keeping leftovers, but also intentionally pocketing as many chips as you need/want.

Harvesting is what it is called around here. "Cheapest option" is because you can basically rent chips for the price of just not having the use of the money for a while and return them later for a full refund. Kinda like renting them for free....

Super cool! I really didn't realize how far this subculture goes! I did read up on some harvesting here on the forums yesterday. I have no idea what my local Cascades uses

I started looking in here first for denominated chip set info. Then I realized all the different types (dice, slugged, ceramic, china clay, paulsons). Now I know the difference between THC and RHC haha! Everyone's cleaning and storage advice... what a great place for collectors and hobbyists!

The rabbit hole is deep....

I’ve worked there for almost 5 years now :)
Wtf! Seriously? I guess that I’m a little slow. Haha!

It seems like just lately I’ve been hearing you commenting in a few threads about what to expect in upcoming offerings. Very cool!

Yep trying to help you guys out as much as possible. I didn’t have an account here until I really started to collect chips, but glad I’m here now. It’s been nothing but positive stuff!
