Sad to hear that my favorite dive casino in Lake Tahoe is closing... They also had one of the better deals in Tahoe for prime rib and lobster.

Hopefully, someone here has connections to get their chips. Calling dibs if someone can make them available to our chip community :).

Here is the email I got today.

Dear <first name>,

After 35 years of being a source of entertainment for thousands of guests, we are permanently closing our doors. This includes all areas of our business including our casino, restaurant, and hotel.

This decision was not made lightly. We hoped that we would be able to resume operations once this COVID-19 situation improved. However, that’s just not in the cards for us.

We were able to stay open for 35 years because of our tremendous staff, loyal guests, and a supportive community. The relationships we have created with our guests are just incredible!

Although this is unexpected news, we’d love to hear any Lakeside memories you’d like to share by replying to this email. We’ll post them on our website for all to read.

In the coming days, please check the Lakeside Closure page of our website for information on how to cash in slot tickets and/or table games chips that you may have. We will continue to update that page with any related information we can share with you.

Whenever you think of us, we hope you’ll think fondly of the good times we had together!

Very sad news. :(
I need more $1s!
Wish I could direct people to cash their sharp $1s with me.

Might be able to get these chips. If the owners never plan on owning a casino again, they won’t care if they run afoul of Nevada gaming laws by selling the chips.
They will care a lot when the gaming commission smacks 'em with a big hefty fine. Their enforcement division carries weapons and has arrest powers, too.

Yeah, keeping the chips is way worth the fines and everyone getting arrested.....

Goodbye, sweet chips....

Has @TheChipRoom ever been able to get chips from Nevada before? Or does the Nevada board of gaming control require that the chips be destroyed?
So many times. I probably have close to $30k in legal fees wrapped up in Nevada. Went to a Nevada Gaming Control Board meeting recently, just to try and get them to sell NCV chips, another no. They do know me by name, not sure if that's good or bad.

So the rubber ducks are still a possibility is what you're saying?

Wow, this may be one of my favorite sets, I am real sad that this wont make a group buy :(
