Pretty sure I already know the answer and not sure all 3 of the above exist, but I am looking for 2 racks of fracs for my Kings Crown set. I know I have seen the yellow hot stamp .25s and pretty much have no hope of ever getting even 1 of those let alone full racks. But are there any other KC fracs out there or versions that could be used as a frac?

Figure it cant hurt to ask before I make my own...

Thanks!

I have some, but I'm not a willing seller & I doubt you will find anyone that is.

If you make your own, I think you should ask to be allowed..... Assuming you are talking about making a copy of the hot stamp die.

Just sayin

Did someone say Kings Crown fracs??

Allow me to tease thee…

They sure do look great where they are!! I don’t know how many there are, but I’d say they are being kept by unwilling sellers. (I’m in that camp also)

This is all I’ve got! But they are out there!!!

They are.

I was the organizer of that GB back on CT. I don't recall for sure how many total chips were ordered. I "might" be able to figure it out with some effort, but since it doesn't matter all that much I probably won't. Total #'s made were around 20k & if you just think about what denominations would have the most and the least made it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there probably weren't more than 1k or maybe 1500 total fractionals made.

I personally have like 150 x 5c & 150 x 25c so more than likely between what I have and that rack posted by @Jeevansluck that's somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/3 of all existing fracs from that GB

are these leaded by any chance?

Out of curiosity, ask to be allowed by whom? I don't plan to create hot stamps, I was thinking of using milled TRK solids and having a tribute label made on my own that is close to the original. But again, who would someone ask? We are talking about a casino that never opened in the 60s when they didn't get their license, and then chips that were made by a company that is no longer in business. So I am thinking it is pretty much fair use if I am making them for myself and not selling them for any type of profit. If I am wrong, please let me know.

I figured that the fracs that were out there are all but locked up, so the tribute label is pretty much my only avenue at this point if I want fracs. Nice so see those that have them post some porn. Those yellow .25 fracs are phenomonal!!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Dennis ever switched/changed formulas to move to unleaded chips so most TR Kings are leaded. I am aware that there are some out there that are pretty light and might appear to be unleaded so I guess I can't say for sure. In any case, there is some variation by color, but most are >10g. Just weighed my brown solids and they were 9.5g & my off white solids are 10.3g

Well, this is sort of like saying that you like someone's CPC set and since they are locked up and you want some, you are going to just make your own, isn't it? I went through the effort of doing a GB with a small number of members back on ChipTalk. We spent a long time with a designer coming up with the design and when we were done we all ordered chips expecting that we had a secure design that no one else would have and no one would bring counterfeit chips into our games. When Dennis closed shop he asked me what I wanted done with the dies. Since he was selling some of his stuff to BCC and at the time BCC was the only one that could do work like this, I had him ship the dies to BCC. There were a few that were worn out and he sent those back to me. Unfortunately some time later BCC was bought up by Paulson/GPI and most of my dies were basically confiscated.

Our Hot Stamp Kings Crown was basically a tribute to the original and if you are going to make a tribute to my tribute that resembles it, but is not the same then I guess there is nothing I can do about it. If your plan is to copy my design, then I think that at the very least you should ask permission.

my 2¢

I will say that your design is beautiful and those are my favorite fracs in existence. I actually didn't know you designed them and until the other day, actually thought they were part of the original set, which says how great they are!

That being said, I had/have zero intent on copying your design or doing a hot stamp. My intent is to do a variation of the original label using the
1967 crown from the LA Kings logo (diehard Kings fan). And again, I would only be making 200 of these chips for my own personal use. So have no worries about my chips being confused for yours. The only similarity would be that we both copied / paid tribute to the original set.

And for clarification, I would ask the original designer of the chips for permission to do this if I had and idea who it was or how to go about it. Are you saying you did? If so, maybe you can point me in the right direction?

Here are a few pics of my fracs, the entire line up from my set and one of the worn out dies:

Love your 1 & 500 chip. Not sure who in your group buy ordered these 5s but I love them.

A full set of king's crown would be the only TRK set needed, the hotstamp looks so good with them.

@Josh Kifer could stamp something like that, and stamp dies these days are cheap.

Too bad CPC scrowns don't have baby lady spots like original TRKs.

It's the feel between CPCs and TRK. I own a set of CPCs and love them but the feel and weight is so different than shuffling the leaded TRKs you leant in MI for awhile.

yea, TR Kings are much softer & quite a bit heavier than CPC's. Like @liftapint mentioned about the inserts too, no way to produce the exact same look and feel anymore. To tell the truth, I am happy that it is that way... lol
