Looks a lot like shill bidding to me. And same with two prior sales. No way that these are real sales—no one pays these prices for roulettes—bidders have huge feedback records too. Likely his pals trying to paint the tape.
There's definitely a way they could but the cost benefit isn't worth it to them / probably promotes not doing anything. Pros they make more money off of the inflated prices > cons that a few particularly attentive buyers notice but eBay knows it won’t keep them from using their marketplace in the future.This is sad. Also, I'm shocked eBay doesn't have better machine learning for recognizing these types of behaviors already. Surely there must be some "out of the norm" recognizable pattern between buyers and sellers that would surface in these types of scenarios.
