My heart is broken as I write this.

My father passed away this morning at 92. He had been battling several illnesses, and his health declined rapidly over the past two years. It was expected, but is still a loss too great to express in words.

Incidentally, my Dad loved going to the casino. For the past few years, I would spend Saturdays with him, take him out to lunch at his favorite diner, and drive him to Harrah's, Philadelphia, (which is really in Chester, PA), and he would put $20 in his favorite slot machine.

I'm not sure how he did it, but probably nine times out of 10, he'd walk out with $40 and a big grin on his face. Our last trip to the casino was on Feb. 22, just before they closed due to COVID-19.

I wanted to let everyone know that I will not be sending invoices out or shipping orders this week as we do all that is necessary in this terrible time.

Thank you for understanding.

Dennis

Sorry for your loss. Sending my best to you and your family.

Very sorry for your loss Dennis. Sounds like your Dad had a great run. Good luck during this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Dennis. 92 is a long full life. I lost my father 30 years ago at age 63, and would have given anything to have had another couple of decades with him in my life.

I'm very sorry to hear this, Dennis :(

I wish you and your family the best.

The note above though, is truly heart warming, and I hope after the initial shock of losing your father, these memories will help to heal the heart a little quicker. It's awesome that you were able to spend this quality time with him these last few years. I'm sure he appreciated the fact he had a great son who took the time out of life's hectic schedule to slow down and enjoy the little things in life while he still could. God bless my friend.

I sincerely hope there is a place where your dad and my dad are doing everything they love to do and are waiting to see us again. Until then, I’m sorry for your loss and stay strong for your people in this life. Love ya internet stranger.

Sorry for your loss. I don't know you or your dad, but it makes me smile thinking about you taking him to lunch and the casino, those are the moments you will remember for the rest of your life and I'm sure he cherished those moments.

Dennis, please accept my condolences. Sorry about your dad. It sounds like you’ll have a lot of great memories having spent time together.

So sorry to read this, Dennis, but your Dad had a great run, and enjoyed life to the end. You can't ask for more than that.

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to all who sent messages of condolence this week, in this thread or by PM. Your kind words mean more than you know. Thank you all again, and a wide-ranging thanks to all in this great community for being there!

Dennis so sorry for you loss. I hope you find comfort in the memories of all the Saturdays you spent with your father.

I am very sorry for your loss, Dennis.

I too was very fond of my old man and worked with him for many years and absolutely gutted when he passed.

They are gone forever but they will live on in our memories and all fathers could not ask for anything better than the love and affection of their children and you certainly have been one who was there for him. Being a nonagenarian, he had a good long run.
