Since 2014, I've been offering Key West Resort & Casino chips for sale at deeply discounted prices. With today's announcement from Classic Poker Chips that their prices must increase in a few weeks, it is no longer possible for me to offer Key West chips at the prices we've seen in the past -- nearly 20 percent below the cost of new Classic Poker Chips.

In order to keep Key West chips available, I am making the following changes, effective immediately:

New prices:

The new public retail price of a Key West chip will be $1.79
All PCF members will receive a discount of 5 cents per chip in any quantity between 1 and 299 chips ($1.74 per chip).
All PCF members will receive an additional discount of 5 cents per chip of their order is over 300 chips. ($1.69 @)
We will offer a sample set of six (6) chips for $14.99. Delivery to any U.S. address is included in the price.
Blue $1 chips will continue to trade for $1.
The new public retail price of solid (roulette) Key West chips will be $1.32. The PFC member price will be $1.25.

The reasons for this increase:

With the production price of a new Level 1 inlaid chip moving toward $1.79, it is not possible to continue replacing the chips we sell and covering the gap between our price and Classic's price with profits from other sales. I have reached out to several wholesalers and manufacturers about adding their products to the Key West site.

As in the past, profits from the sale of other items will help offset the price of chips.

The offer of a 6-chip sample set is simply a recognition of reality. Anyone who buys samples to actually play poker does not buy racks of all 12 denominations. If you don't need 12 chips, buy 6 chips of your choice and save money. (12-chip sample sets also decimate our supply of the lesser-used chips, take a lot of time and effort to pack and send, and lose money for our company -- over $2 per sample set.)

I am also working on offering sets of Key West chips on a one-year lease for a reasonable leasing fee.

Prices on the Key West website will be updated this evening.

I know this is not welcome news. I also know it's unavoidable.

Totally understand the pricing increases, Dennis - and the Key West chips still remain a good deal at the new levels, imo.

I would hope that you'd still offer a full 12-chip sample set for collectors (and for at least $21.50 plus shipping; more if you need to factor in labor and/or replacement costs for the lesser-used chips).

We can still do a 12-chip sample set. My thinking is six will be easier and less expensive to ship and less expensive for an actual player who is buying either a cash set or a tournament set, and doesn't need all 12 denominations.

Absolutely agree with six-chip samples for prospective buyers, especially if they get to choose which chips. Great idea.
