Dabbling with the idea of getting customs made with a college theme…main colors for Kent are blue and gold…LA Charger like…still working on an inlay…just wanted some feedback since I have no clue what I am doing.

I live in Akron, daughter plays softball for one of the kent state satellites

just wanted some feedback since I have no clue what I am doing.
Too much white, especially in three consecutive denominations; could cause dirty stacks. That said, I like the blue chip a lot. I would consider making it the $1, axing the white chip, and finding a different base color to use as a frac. For the red chip, I would suggest either three different colors or all the same, instead of two of the same and one different. The green chip is awesome and will look way better in person than in the pic if brought to life.

Get a color sample because the scans are not that accurate.

In terms of the design tool itself, change the background to light gray because people hate looking at puke green, and you can save whole sets so they print together. So a quick mock-up could look something like this (emphasis on quick aka not great).

Doing a theme around one school/team is extremely hard. The set needs a variety of colors to be playable without dirty stack issues. You could design a limit set that only needs 2 chips in the set and be fine.

Perhaps try using the MAC as theme to be able to incorporate more schools while using Kent as the workhouse chip in the set. I spent a lot of time at Kent state in my 20’s.

I take that response as a fail on the design
Not at all just pointing out a shared connection.

For te design I agree with rie, to much white. You want to try ands avoid repeating spot colors.

I realize I can’t do every chip in team colors…the inlay will have Kent references…just thought maybe the frac and $1 could be…obviously a long way to go

No problem…just thought you were being nice by not trashing it and saying something else…my mistake

How do you do more than one chip? Haven’t figured it out on tool

You can individually save chips in a set by clicking the middle of the chip itself. Then you can hit "save as png" and get it as a full set pic with different options. This is off my head so if it doesn't work let me know and I'll double-check.

I think I got it

Version #2......I decide only the $1 will have KSU colors...still struggling with the $5 though

Suggestions.
1. Iterate and sit. Come back and reassess.
2. Peruse the chip guide and the DB here. Cruise various threads with lots of images. Look at chips you like and don’t; identify what and why.
3. Don’t rapid fire post versions, you’re likely to see fewer and fewer folks reply.

Here is the backstory for chips

Went to Kent…Me and my buddies played cards almost everyday….we mostly played 7 stud…but played many other games….KIngs were my “lucky” card…except when I bet a King…my buddies would fold because I always had it when I got a King up…one buddy even became a dealer at horseshoe Cleveland and my first hand of black Jack he dealt me was KK…so it’s a long running joke

We lived in the Eastway dorms (Clark hall)

Eastway was basement Rec center connecting 4 dorms….Had pool tables/bowling alley/deli and burger fry joint

My buddy made a very rough draft of an inlay…it will be done way better…just a placeholder for now.

Here is the latest iteration …I won’t keep posting various mocks ups…this is it until I get the final inlay

Ok- I think these are in the right order. Makes it easier to compare when you post the full image and load multiple into the same post.

I like charcoal & bright white. Not certain about the spot patterns on them, however.

What about the spot patterns don’t you like?…I am a novice at this and any feedback is appreciated

I can’t quite put my finger on it. Totally personal taste.

I will say that L9 spots are pricey, so those are best reserved for the $100 given the predominance of lower spot levels across the other chips.

I agree but didn’t think the tool allowed to use with bright white

That eagle on the inlay doesn't really remind me of the Kent State logo.
You are right.......but after realizing I couldn't do a true tribute theme because of color challenges etc...., I decided not to go for everything to be exact and more of a reference....eagle/kings/pool hall etc
