Really liked his first couple albums. Since then, he's gotten weirder and weirder. Most of his stuff now is hit and miss, with a lot more misses than hits.
Why can't anyone put together a good album anymore? I'm talking about one of those that you would listen to and just let it play. No skipping songs, or just jumping to the last track. Thank God for Pandora, iTunes, or however you choose to get your music nowadays.
It helps to be able to get what you want " a la carte", and leave the rest of the BS.

It's odd but I have never had this situation with the band's I love or even my genre of music, really. Maybe I'm biased and maybe this is an uninformed assumption but maybe the complaint you have is largely a problem with rap/r&b/hip-hop. I think of bands I've listened to for 25+ years like iron maiden, ozzy, tool, rolling Stones, pink floyd, ac/dc ect... Even the newer bands coheed and cambria and the like I find that even if the music or vocals are weak the latter still makes up. Also the music changes or evolves but it also always seems to improve.

It's funny - I feel exactly the opposite with regard to Kanye. His first couple albums were good, but Fantasy and Yeezus blew me away. I could take or leave Watch the Throne, but when he's free to go crazy, I love him.

We've had artists forever who were total assholes and yet produced amazing music. I don't pay much attention to his shoes or his awards show interruptions or his wife's ass (well, at least not in the context of it being his wife's ass). I just listen to the music and it is great.

I did like Fantasy, but Yeezus not so much. The only track I've heard off the new one is "Real Friends", and so far I think it's okay. (Who knows, I have had music grow on me over time, when initially I didn't like it, or thought it was okay)

I'm with you, for the most part, I don't really care what he does. He has great ability as an artist and producer. Like @justsomedude said, He's bats$@t crazy, and I don't really care.
