Kansas City Straddle II July 13-16, 2023 (3 Viewers)

Good news for the sports fans. Unlike last summer when the Royals and Sporting KC were on the road during the Straddle, this year the Royals have a homestand during KCS II.

So, for baseball fans hoping to catch a game:

• The Royals host the Tampa Bay Rays on July 14-16 at Kauffman Stadium, featuring back-to-back night games on July 14-15 (Friday-Saturday). The last game is at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 16.

Kauffman is roughly 20-25 mins from the KCS site.

For the pro soccer fans, Sporting KC is unfortunately on the road again during KCS II. But they have a home match vs. Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at Children's Mercy Park if you're in town the day before KCS II. The stadium is on the far west side of the greater Kansas City metro area in the Village West/Legend's area (Kansas Speedway, Hollywood Casino, etc.).

Love to do a Royals (night) game. Last game we went to at Kaufman was a day game. The absolute hottest I've even been in a stadium and that counts sitting in the old aluminum bleachers at old Texas Stadium. Kaufman even being an older stadium is still a real beaut.



1st base line, June, sun field, damn it was warm. This was early in the game but my Son in Law had already bolted to the concourse where he stayed for most of the rest of the game except to make beer runs for us.

We bid farewell to one of our own today, as Mr. @Sicembears will leave the KC metro soon. Since he won't be around for KCS II, we decided to do a little mini meetup and a .25/.50 game in his honor with some of the KC PCFers at my place.

Pregame speech and some farewell gifts handed over (coins, PCF stickers, even an Army-themed felt for his table).

Hot dog roller going for lunch sandwiches. Don't @ me. They're sandwiches. Damn it.
